I’ve always felt we should be further along with nuclear power than we are. There’s several ways to generate electricity from nuclear energy and some countries are invested in these types with no problems. Anything can be done when safety guidelines are followed and time tested. The US Navy is a good example of decades using nuclear power in ships and maintaining a safe track record. We’re going to run out of fossil fuels at some point and transportation is not even 50% of our crude oil supplies. Plastics and chemicals are a huge use category.

Thats a giant strawman. Nobody is saying nuclear power is bad when nothing goes wrong (the waste issues ignored) - people are saying EVEN THOUGH its very unlikely something goes wrong that is balanced by how incredibly bad it is IF it does. I mean Elon even straight up lied about the consequences - millions of people died bc of Chernobyl and its effects. No other pollution is irreversibly poisoning giant areas of land for 100k years or more

Etymology and terminology The term hamburger originally derives from Hamburg,[2] Germany's second-largest city. Hamburg was also one of the major ports through which German emigrants to the Americas left in the 19th century. Hamburger in German is the demonym of Hamburg, similar to frankfurter and wiener, names for other meat-based foods and demonyms of the cities of Frankfurt and Vienna (in German Wien) respectively.

Not sure if I agree with Elons opinion the British museum being a net good, feel like stolen artifacts hold more value being returned to the places they came from by potentially reducing brain drain out of developing countries; particularly those in Africa considering how black history is treated. The people most capable of lifting up those countries emigrate and I feel like showing people that their roots run deeper than being victims of colonialism would motivate them to stay and actually help solve their countries problems .

This argument implies that the British have a right to these because they’re a “more civilized culture,” than African ones; this is not true. This is the basis for so many racist, pro-imperialist arguments. It’s not true, it doesn’t make sense, and these relics ultimately belong to the cultures that designed and made them, the British or anyone else doesn’t have a right to them just because they aren’t currently at war.

@@Zacharysharkhazard except it makes perfect sense and has nothing to do with your fancy buzzwords. Britain ruling over these countries for so long actually gimped them in being able to setup their own proper cultures and societies that are stable which would allow for the proper preservation of great art. Like the original comment said- civil wars, corrupt politicians, and the what have yous of an unstable society are a risk to the great arts of those societies that doesn't exist in the British museum to nearly as high an extent.

I agree also about nuclear energy, especially after hearing about micro reactors. Way easier to make and apparently much safer. But I also when Elon started talking about radiation and eat Fukushima vegetables it was hard to watch more. Seems like he used to be smart and interesting and now seems to be grifting along with all the other power-hungry-""genius""-'business-villains.

Sigh. Come on. Of all the epic memes on the internet, these are the ones they came up with? It's like they made a concerted effort to avoid funny memes. P.S. I love his podcasts but why can't a millionaire MIT engineer like Lex get a video camera that stays in focus? Conspiracy???

Good show, thx! I think radiation is a bit underestimated by Elon as harming factor.
