But how does it have 5× more energy, 6× more power, but only 16% more range? Perhaps I missed something but that doesn't make sense. Maybe that 16% is at the 5× & 6× power/ energy.

Random Runner Steal? Tesla wasn’t the first company to create an electric vehicle, they weren’t the first to create solar panels. They were the first to create more powerful and efficient products with a highly attracted audience, but im saying soon other companies will easily match their level and create big competition, porsche for example already has a faster all electric car but their range isn’t equal to Tesla’s YET.

See, if every chair in the furniture store is the same old uncomfortable fabric for the same old price, a company has to innovate so that people buy them over someone else. Capitalism is also better for consumers, too. Say Intel releases some amazing processor that blows everything else out of the water, and they price it really high because nobody can compete. AMD is going to release an even better processor and price it lower than Intel so that overall, AMD wins. This cycle keeps repeating itself until the amazing technology that once costed $400 now costs $40. Can you think of anything better than Capitalism? I'll wait.

In a way it makes sense because you normally can't develop a new battery shape that then doesn't fit into anyone's device/vehicle. But if you're building the whole device in-house then you can get away with doing away with convention. It's so cool what they're doing.

It's a myth that the 500LBs (lots bs) Gorilla leading companies duracell, Energizer, etc will make breakthroughs, instead they squash and hinder to their primary money maker. Large market leaders nearly never see the future or r&d into it, there are thousands of examples , Kodak, polar Polaroid, Netscape, Microsoft, in every industry.

Not to be negative but they again "borrowed" from Tesla. Google Tesla spiral coil he developed and explained how spiral increases capacity of the coil dramatically. I am not sure if they are aware of the Tesla spiral coil, maybe they arent so they didnt mention it. What I find funny is how most important parts of the whole car are more than 120 years old technology. Now its truly a Tesla in true sense.

Why are they hollow in the middle? I hope this will be where heat pipes go, instead of being a wasted space that becomes a thermal hotspot. At least put wax in there for phase change heat storage, or as a high-reliability thermal disconnect (from the wax motor effect).
