Dr. Linkov, I feel bad that you need to address your condition all the time. You look great with or without hair, and even if you were in a position to get surgery, it’s always the patient’s personal choice. So it shouldn’t matter what your profession is. I think it just speaks to people’s skepticism around the efficacy of hair transplants. They look at the fact that you haven’t done it and automatically assume it’s because you know something that we don’t.

Sooo Elon spent good money but it's attainable for the average guy as well. Also fin and minox is only worth it for certain cases, it's too harmful to be worth using long-term. Any one who continues to use it is doing so at a big risk. Better to go mostly vegetarian and take good natural supplements as well as practicing circulation to the head and proper hormone control. He literally had no hair in the front and the top. He was 40 years old looking 50. 8-9 months after the transplant, he had a head full of hair and he still has. He looks 35 and girls are all over him. So amazing to see how hair could dramatically change someone's looks in a positive way. Unfortunately good things don't stay a secret. It is so unfortunate we place such negative value on male baldness. As Dr. Gary suggests, the costs are formidable for the vast majority of men. Many women (if not most), think bald men are beautiful! Dr Gary is an example of this. What a beautiful person and man. I am a 62 year old happily married woman, but he would still turn my head :). My own husband became even more handsome when he gave in to his early hair loss and shaved his head. He too is a beautiful person which is what matters at the end of the day isn't it!! It's not negative it's just you're not nearly as attractive as you would be with hair. Hair not only protects your head from the elements but it harmonizes and frames your face to your head. It's vital in attracting a mate. Most men would not be with a woman with the horseshoe shape pattern. Most young women do not like bald men as it makes you look way older. After getting a hair transplant... is it always necessary to still take finasteride or minoxidil? Or is the hair transplant enough to avoid taking these products. Main reason why I ask is because I am concerned about the side effects of those medicines
@chickenman14763 жыл бұрын
You should ALWAYS take finasteride after hair transplant, if you do get bad side effects (very rare) you can quit the medication and the side effects will end as well.
@alexjones10173 жыл бұрын
Minoxidil (topical) has almost 0 side effects, finasteride is a different story but still safe
@seemlesslies3 жыл бұрын
You can try cutting the dosage in half and see if that helps. If I recall they give 5mg of Fin technically you don't need more than like .5 mg in your system for it to be effective.

Massive Respect for surgeons, My own hair growth success story I followed methods below: 1. Fragrance free shampoo. Korean cosmetic industry understand why years ago, we are still behind. 2. Taoist soap for hair growth 2x a week only: stops further loss, stimulates new growth. 3. Nettle tea to drink 2x a day at least for removing hormone residue in the liver, further supporting hormone balance, altho not fully but enough. 4. Scalp massage for 30 minutes a day. Do not skip, just massage with your fingertips slow and hard, be gentle at first as next day can get sore. 5. Collagen powder 2x a day w tablespoons each time. Don't get pills they are not high dose enough. 6. Cold water rinse on just top of scalp, don't let cold water on back of neck or head much as you might get sick. But once a day or a couple of times a week does wonders. Learnt this from my brother who spent years looking for answers. He has a full head of hair now and 38. But at 23 he had very thin hair all over. I had thin hair too. Stick to the regimen, and you will see results. Hair growth requires many angels and this is why its hard to cure. You can do this even if you had a transplant, or before one to get the best of both worlds.

So it seems like more often than not, people end up getting at least two procedures done to satisfy what they are wanting to achieve with a hair transplant. In your knowledge, is there a scenario where just one procedure would suffice? And what might the average cost of a satisfactory hair transplant (or two transplants) be?
@terrievaughn25582 жыл бұрын
It is my understanding that 2 procedures are because the person hasn’t stopped balding so the original hair is still thinning while the transplant hair is growing taking hold, so…another transplant is desired.

Hey, not a doctor but my brother was advised to come off Finasteride (the drug involved in hair loss prevention) when him and his partner were trying to conceive as it can reduce a mans ejaculate volume and may also potentially impact the sperm quality, but I also do know that many men have successfully had children whilst staying on the drug.

I was diagnosed with alopecia 2 years ago (a patch above my neck which lasted 2 years and was itchy at the beginning). After those 2 years I decided to show it to a doctor and was administered some injection which suppressed my immunity after which my hair grew back gradually (but much thinner). Ever since then the condition repeats after every 4-5 months with a similar or bigger patch (which is itchy). It heals by itself after 3-4 months without any drugs. The only way to know when it might show up again is a sudden itchy sensation.. I would like to know if this is actually alopecia or something else?
