I like my southern states since I'm from the south. I live in Florida and would never dream of moving to California. Certainly not by my own free will. They'd have to drag me there by force and I'll still put up a fight. I won't sacrifice the normal childhood of my future children when they go to school by sending them to California's schools. Kids should learn to be kids, and be taught mathhistoryand science. That's it. Just because of some silly powergrid doesn't mean I will sacrifice my children's sanity. To me California is like a lion's den. I won't question anyone's decisions. The fact that I'm not a fan of the state or Gavin Newsom Hollywood doesn't help in changing my mind about moving there. One must do what they think it's best for them and their family. To each his own.

The new California law is exact copy of communist laws from the period of 1921-1970 basicaly you and your children belong to the state .Most of Eastern and Central Europan communist dictatorship countries totally abounded this in late 1970's .I don't understand how parent can allow school to hide information about his kids on excuse of privacy. What happen if is health, educational or behaviour issues .Somebody in state legislation in California needs to check their heads for brain tissue ,not to mention that I just read the Parental Federal Act /1993/ the California Law is unconstitutional. It is not up to the school to tell YOU about YOUR child. The school is not keeping the secret YOUR child is. How about getting to know your kid, and maybe you wouldn't have to depend on the school to monitor and report on your childs pronoun choices. So dumb expect a school to tell you something as a parent you should know. If you dont know, that's on your relationship with YOUR child. If your kid is hiding something, there is a reason for that. Why make the school get involved in YOUR parenting. If YOUR kid trusts a teacher, more than they trust you, maybe you hvae some to do as a parent.

The weirdness in Elon Musk's case might have something to do with the fact that one of his children came out as trans. Given there's already a degree of separation from his children due to his divorce with that child's mother, it's an extra slap in the face for a school to add another degree of separation by refusing to let parents know their child is considering making a major life changing decision. That, and the fact that we should probably be discouraging children from making those kinds of changes before they're really old enough to appreciate the magnitude and irreversibility of those kinds of choices. It makes me sad. I grew up in a world where, in the late 90's, Yahoo! and Google ruled the internet, information was free, and we had mainly California's entrepreneurs to thank for the modern day internet where everyone had a large collection of information available on whatever subject was of interest to them. However, between malicious government actors outside of California seeking to destroy the entire state as retaliation for challenging their corruption and injustice, and malicious government actors in California's own borders with presumably selfish motives selling out to those they worked so hard to resist against in the first place. It seems unlikely to me that the amazing California we observed and envied growing up will continue to act as an example to the rest of the world of what democracy and civil rights can accomplish. I honestly feel torn between efforts to try to continue supporting the companies of Silicon Valley in hopes they will return to their former glory, greatness, ethics, and efforts to try to rebuild their old dream elsewhere. It appears Elon Musk is trying to do just that in Texas. A lot of people seem to view Silicon Valley as fallen, and it remains to be seen if they correct themselves and once again lead on not only the national, but the world stage, as they did in the 80's and 90's. Or, perhaps another power will take up their old mantle and save the human race from those in power whose selfishness appears to be on a course to destroy us all.
