It is fascinating to consider the possibility that we could communicate and, more so, COMPREHEND, at the rate Elon is conveying. I wonder how that becomes possible? Also....If we are basically by-passing natural functions of the brain and doing that same function with this Neuralink implant, what will the effects to a natural and healthy brain be? There almost zero chance of that answer being "nothing"....and with that said, what are the effects to the entire brain if healthy and normal but a Neuralink is used to assist/boost certain specific cognitive functions? What are the hormonal/emotional effects? Does it become impossible for a person to remove the Neurolink and function as normal ever again? Because that wouldnt surprise me.

There will be many negative effects; of course if the brain gets used to that chip it will quickly lose the ability to function without it... Whenever a human gets used to not using a particular part of the brain (not doing certain things), that part of the brain downgrades fast... Even the personal computers of the mid 2000s, when they became widely available, made people awkward in real life and made meaningful communication difficult, especially the younger people as they spent too much time on these machines as opposed to doing other things. Since the mid 2000s things only got worse. You know the story.

Brain functions are not only bioelectric in nature. Musk omits very important information in the constitution of people, and that is that the transmission of language in the development of a creature implies love, dedicated desire (which can be affirmation or rejection) and enjoyment. communicating at the highest bandwidth possible brain to computer connection, is going to look exactly like what elon and his teams are doing with neuralink has been some thing that ive thought about since i was young and in arcades playing games thinking it would be so much better if we could just link our brains to the game,. i couldnt help but wonder if you would learn the moves or if the moves were limited to what you could physically do. i thought it was so far into the future that i wouldnt get to see or experience that kind of technology. we sure have come an amazingly long way in 50 years, i never thought we would be as advanced as we are, i mean we are just a few steps away from exploring the universe. its always going to be at its hardest right before it things get better. i hope that we are just going thru growing pains and not about to go way of the do-do vird. god bless us all

Here’s my main issue with merging the human mind with AI… We don’t even know what our minds are capable of and we are bypassing the discovery what the human mind is really capable of and jumping into the deep end with merging it with synthetic, non-organic matter. I think it’s vital that we commit research to the discovery of the human potential without the integration with AI. I think as a whole this is an incredibly important discussion for us to have. So far humanity has only known survival. According the Maslow's hierarchy of needs, we know that we can’t even discover ourselves unless are basic needs are met first. And most of humanity is still stuck in that bottom part of the pyramid. We have no idea what we are truly capable of!!!! And now with the merging with Ai we might never find out!!!!!! We cannot bypass the discovery of our own true potential. This is VITAL!!!!!
