They always say never meet your heroes but I got to meet J. Spaceman through a friend backstage at a Barbican tribute to Sun Ra. This particular hero was not a let down. We chatted about various NSW subjects for about an hour but as this has always been my fave album, I asked him why it bombed. He laughed and asked me if I knew the release date? I replied in the negative, somewhat puzzled. Sept 11th 2001. Not a good day for things coming down hahahahah. He was great, and I walked on air for a few days and we even exchanged a coupe of emails. Bless you Jason, you make a loud noise in a silent way. @caleb.selah
