Nicely done and very helpful video. I'm considering a Himo Z20 among others. I especially like the 20" tires. I'm in Thailand and I'm an old guy. Arthritis limits my riding a standard bike but an E-Bike fits my needs perfectly. One issue I have with the Himo. I would use the bike to go shopping at the market and I see no means of carrying any cargo, I looked closely on your video and I could see no basket or rack attachment points. Do you know if any are offered as accessories? That would be a deal killer for me which is too bad as I see few other E-Bikes available locally in my price range with 20" wheels.

Thanks for the amazing view! I’ve had a C20 for just under a year. It’s been fun but I’ve developed a few issues rather quickly. 1. The handle bar is a bit wobbly when locked and the only solution I have to make it feel “tight” when riding is to place a piece of cardboard in between the gap where it the bar and frame meet. I haven’t figured out any other way to tighten / modify the mechanism. Any tips in this area? 2. The frame has started to sound a bit “creaky” when riding and I can’t for the life of me figure out precisely where this is coming from. Have you experienced the same? Thanks again for making this video. Keep it up!
@elProducente3 жыл бұрын
No, haven't made these observations but I will check again since you pointed it out
@NARUdaARC3 жыл бұрын
1. The easiest possible fix is to check the quick release that is holding your handlebar and the stem. If it is already loose, then change it. You can also opt to upgrade to a carbon handlebar which is quite cheap nowadays. 2. Creaky sounds usually comes from damaged bearings. Usually it is the bottom bracket, you can also check the wheel and the headset bearing. It is also worth to tighten back all the bolts on your bicycle to the manufacturer's specified torque. A quick visit to an experienced bike shop would be able to fix your problems.

Bikes are okay, I had a HIMO C20, but you have a problem when it doesn't work anymore. Parts are hard to come by and most of it is proprietary which makes it hard to replace. I had my bike for 3 months and it started to show unknown/power/battery problems. after trying everything, contacting the seller (Who kept saying that it was my fault) and also using other parts with no results i had to throw away the bike because it was useless and impossible to repair. So potential buyers beware.

Which problems were you facing? Which part of the bike broke?
@1Surinamer4 жыл бұрын
And this is what im afraid of when buying, im not a wrecker or something, but im going to feel helpless because i know its going to be hard repairing when the manufacture is in China. And i am no handyman either. But i still wanna buy because i always love these kind of bikes..so i will wait till the price drops more and just take the risk 👍
@elProducente4 жыл бұрын
@@1Surinamer As for the hardware: most of the parts are standard bicycle parts, they can be repaired/changed with standard parts. For example I changed the pedals to aluminum pedals. Same goes for brakes, gear shift, light - could also be done by a local bicycle shop. As for the specific electronics - you can get controler, display, battery and other Himo replacement parts online. I don't think repairing the bike will cause problems.

The bike is pretty heavy, but it’s not too exhausting. Once you reach a certain speed you probably don’t notice, acceleration requires more force than on a regular bike. Some people mentioned they want a bike which they can use either electric or not. That’s why I mentioned it. Good to see that removing the battery on Z20 is an option.

Could you advise me? I plan to buy an electric bike for cummiting. I will be biking on average 20 km per day (in NL with rain and wind). I have some problems with my knees. If I am going to ride a long distance (20 km) every day, do you think this foldable e-bike would be able to do the job? or do you think I should better get an unfoldable bike with bigger wheels? Please, give me a hand with this. Kind regards
@elProducente3 жыл бұрын
I also use it for commuting (24km roundtrip) and Z20 does the job quite well. I think 20" wheel size is a good compromise of having a small compact bike to store and large enough wheels for driving comfort. I guess larger wheels add to the driving comfort, but I'm fine with it.

I Bought a Z20 in July this year, so far so good, but the first problem that erased, just after using the bike for a couple of months, is exactly the same as Reuben Samuel, is complaining about... His text: "It’s been fun but I’ve developed a few issues rather quickly. 1. The handle bar is a bit wobbly when locked and the only solution I have to make it feel “tight” when riding is to place a piece of cardboard in between the gap where it the bar and frame meet. I haven’t figured out any other way to tighten / modify the mechanism. Any tips in this area?" The problem is that due to the friction, the parts that are in contact with each other, the bar & the frame, have started to wear out, so now there's still a bigger gap and the bar is super wobbly! Also I fell of the bike and the free stand broke! As it's and aluminium piece cannot be welded, so I need a replacement. Last but not least, the bike when was delivered in a box, by the delivery truck, had a hole in the box, exactly where the part of the frame takes all the weight of the bike, which creates friction with the box (when in transit), the spot, where there's an air pump installed. I assume, there's bolt missing that hold the air pump, Correct? This part was missing, so we created a plastic cover and taped it around with duck tape! By the way, is there a dealer or representative in Portugal, that might assist us with these issues!? Where can we get spare parts for this bike!?? Thank you! Michael Ferrada

Hello thanks for the review. Why do you say the assisting mode is much better on the Z20 than on the C20? Aren't they the same?

@@elProducente alright. So in practice this means faster acceleration or smoother maybe?

I’d say it feels more like an assist mode. Depending on how fast you pedal you get supported. With Fiido e.g. pedal assist feels like you give full throttle when touching the pedals. I prefer that with Z20 it feels like riding a bike made easier. Not going full electric by controlling it with the pedal. Hope this describes it better

hey. I'm an ex owner of Fiido D1 bike. What I was really missing in that bike is the gear shifts. In theory you could pedal to go faster than the speed the electric assist pushed you to, but in practice you had to pedal very, very quickly with low resistance on the pedals so you weren't really able to go faster than 25-30 km/h. How's that on the Himo bikes? Does it help a lot that there is a 6 gear system in place? Can you go fast on these bikes (>30km/h)? PS. Nice review, thanks!
@elProducente3 жыл бұрын
The gear shifts are great to adjust the strength for the speed. You can go 25km/h max with electric power and then paddle to go faster than 30. I also did a video when comparing it to ADO A20 which can be unlocked to go 35 on electric power
