Definitely not the most versatile, but okay.

this has been my favorite piece for almost a year now. As an aspiring trombonist. Just wow. I hope to teach at this level someday.

Just sensational. Dr. Cramer would be VERY happy with the state of Trombones at Florida State. Back in the day, we were called the "Seminole Sackbut Society". As an FSU alum, I now direct the Atlanta Trombone Ensemble, and would LOVE to get our groups together for a concert...maybe Trombone Week next April. Come on up...and tell Dr. Drew I said "hi"!

Put on your headphones...there's a high F overtone that starts at about 6:30 and goes for 10 seconds! Nicely done. Nicely done!

+Scott Ashley Good ears Scott! I actually made some edits to Wes Hanson's arrangement and put that in. Two are playing the F including one who recently won a job with the U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" in DC!

+etshinn Well then, I don't know whether to be disappointed or impressed...disappointed that it's not an actual overtone, or impressed that two people are playing high Fs so subtly and in tune that it sounds like an overtone :)

I wonder how many of these trombonists have marched in a Drum Corps. The posture of a couple of the players as they hold their instruments remind me of those who have marched in band or a DCI Corps.

Phantom is better

In terms of a more classical/ concert band approach, these guys for sure. Phantom did very well transitioning this to the marching field, imo

Revelli's arrangement and conducting of this piece from the U of Michigan from the 50's. Check it out on YT. Not all brass, but if Phantom played it that way....

I'm a FSU grad., class of '69. This is really a beautifully read piece. I would love for someone there to compose for trombone Choir an arrangement of Sir Edward Elgar's Nimrod, from the Enigma Variations.

@Jim Hall There is an arrangement available of Elgar's Nimrod for trombone choir, transcribed by composer Steven Verhelst. Check it out sometime, I believe the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Trombone Choir may a video of the performance uploaded soon!
