I think this goes to show not only how amazingly versatile trombones are, but how vital the timpani is in this piece!

Tuba. Euphonium. Trombone. Baritone. My grandmother used to tell me stories about the old days, a time of peace when the band director kept balance between the low brass section. But that all changed when the Trombones attacked.

Baritones are all the trumpets who couldn't play trumpet so they swapped to the 'easier' instrument. I say this because that is what every baritone in my band had done. As a trombone, it annoys me.
@maxalaintwo35784 жыл бұрын
@@abird5575 I never played trumpet, but I did first chose euphonium cuz of ease lol. And I'm not ashamed; I'm proud of the approachably of the instrument.

I might be a little biased as a trombone player, but if I had to choose one singular instrument to comprise an entire ensemble, trombone is my number one choice. Well-intoned trombone chords just sound absolutely magnificent. Especially with loud chords, they have a sort of electric crackle that I can’t get enough of.

There is no doubt that Trombone is the featured instrument in this piece. As a trombonist myself, I have to thank the Timpani, Snare, and especially the cymbal player for really making this work. The trombones made it neat and cool, the percussion brought it together IMHO.

As a tuba player, I love trombones. I get to play along with them. Through music I learn their interests, their desires, their lusts. They are the leaders into the world beyond. They can chant like a priest or rant like a manic (sorry RK). I love the horn, so mystic, so evocative, so heroic, but when push comes to shove, as a tuba player, I'm gonna want the bones on my side.

@thatfeeble-mindedboy8 жыл бұрын
Jeff Wright before I learned what that does, I clicked it because I thought it would show any negative comment associated with the 'dislike'. (This was on another post) I, like you, was insensed that someone could have possibly thought anything bad about this post and was curious to read what they had written. Naturally, when I clicked it - there was no comment to read - and further, to my horror, I realized that all I had done was to increase the number of dislikes by one. At that time, I had no idea that it could be deleted - so I panicked and got off the post as soon as I could, leaving my inadvertent dislike glowing for all to see. I had committed the very injustice I had been offended by.. Maybe that's what happened here.
