Hot take: KPop isn't the only pop culture that has representation, and it annoys me when KPop fans think others copy their style when KPop itself had inspiration from American Hip Hop. The outfits, dance, and songs are just reinvented to the country and culture's perspective. Another version of hip hop, and that is cool. PPop, KPOP, JPop, and the list goes on. It's all different with just some similarities. KPop is more popular but that does not mean they own the genre.

Its all bcoz they were not born in the mid 1900 where Pop music started in the US and UK. Remember the Beatles? In 80s michael jackson and madonna were the king and queen of pop music and during 90s they were not even born where jpop, backstreet boys, nsync, new kids on the block, boyzone were so popular during those times. So they always mistakenly thought kpop as a reference to other pop music.

Anyway, it is an unchanging fact that P-pop was heavily influenced by K-pop. Except for P-pop, almost all Asian pops are heavily influenced by K-pop.

@@myung1214 batang 80s ako. Marami ng Pilipino Pop Music noon. Pero di sya tinawag na Ppop dahil mas kilala ang salitang OPM kung saan kabilang ang Ppop. At ang musika ng Pinas ay heavily influenced ng western music. Wala akong naririnig na Korean Music sa mga radyo noon. Mas Jpop pa noong 90s. Early 2000 na lang na nag umpisang sumikat ang Korean pop. Kung meron mang influence ang kpop sa other pop music ng ibang countries yun ay ang intense dancing na isinama nila sa singing sa isang group performers. Yun lang. Pero yang intense dancing na yan nakita kona kay Michael Jackson yan. At yang mga pabebe na tunog ng pagkanta narinig kona kay Madonna at Britney Spears yan. Wala ng bago jan.

You can feel the discrimination from some Filos towards Hori7on just because they're being promoted in SK. They're labeled as an all-Filipino global pop group, wherever they go, they will still be showcasing Filipino talent. It's also important to note that the group is still very young, their musicality will continue to evolve and they have plenty of time to discover their unique music style.

I really do think DAY AND NIGHT DESERVES MORE RECOGNITION (and actually all the other songs of ALAMAT). Like the song is really a BOP! And it is just one of the many songs of ALAMAT that are BOPs! What I especially like about ALAMAT is they have a distinct sound, na kapag narinig mo once 'yung song nila, alam mong kanila. Aside from incorporating various Philippine languages into their song, pati outfits, concept ng MV, very pinoy feels. STAN ALAMAT! ✨🫶

Hori7on is the final 7 winners of the SEARCH FOR THE NEW GLOBAL GROUP SHOW collaboration of Abs Cbn, Kamp Korea, and MLD Entertainment. They are not created for PPOP as compared to the other 2 groups which are why their song has no 'filipino' flavors plus the fact that they are just a pre-debut group...and their target audience is GLOBAL, not just local.
