Goddamn this is the first ever good quality LIVE version of this song not some lip syncing they used to do in the 80’s. The track sounds the same but eltons voice is soooooo live in this

Ok wait is the drum and electric keyboard live??
@bruceski21333 жыл бұрын
@@zacharyschafer3780 only singing was live, Elton sang 3 songs but stated in the interview they were not playing live…was faking everything but the singing. Again he said in the interview we was not playing live, vocals yes,live.

Post is inaccurate, the show was Tomorrow with Tom Snyder, not the today show. Singing live , playing was not. Elton even said in the interview they were not playing live. Sax player faking it . The sax player was his then personal assistant Bob Halley

Was this the appearance they also did "Breaking Down Barriers"?
@bruceski21333 жыл бұрын
@@brianxyz yes, breaking down barriers, and nobody wins. He was the only guest so a very lengthy interview as well. He didn’t tour in 81 so it was a treat. Back then seeing ej at all was rare. Not sure if mtv had emerged yet,if so , most didn’t have cable yet,and he had no videos in circulation. There are actually videos for all songs on the Fox, should be findable on utube,I’m not sure. I stumbled across it at the record/video store. By 82 mtv was here for sure. 3 videos off of jump up, but empty Garden was the only one that got much attention. But whenever he appeared on Tom Snyder it was great. He also appeared shortly after the Central Park concert and he did play live ,lil Jeanie, and sartorial eloquence…solo,no band. Great show too, too bad so little footage of that 1980 band.

Amusing watching that. Apparently Bob thinks there is a lot of back and forth head movement required to play the sax!
