I think this is one of his sexiest time periods actually... So cutely shy in his early 20's, bright and funny in mid-late 20's (I can do without the costumes, but I do think they helped keep him relevant over the decades) and handsome to sexy in his 30's through his 40's. I LOVE his scruffy beard stage!! It's too bad it took me until now, almost 60, to appreciate a 20 30 and 40- year-old who's now 72!! I can't make out if he might have been drinking a beer or Ale on the show but he does seem like he might be coming down a tad on the cocaine with his somewhat irritability towards the interviewer that he really has always hit it off with. It does make him a little less Charming on this one but there are others at this stage where ... gorgeous, funny, and loveable!

Elton and Molly (the interveiwer) have known eachother since Elton became famous. Elton does look like he has a hangover lol him and Molly have always gone back and forth with the smart ass comments haha

86 was a really bad year for him, with the sun's scandal and his marriage falling apart, his excesses got worse and worse and the more coke he did the more pot he then needed to come down, that's how he ruined his voice during the Australian tour and had to have surgery. by the way I completely agree with you, Elton in his 30s is just eye candy!

Why does Elton John look sexy to me in this interview? Is something wrong with me? He looks like he has a hangover or whatever but I like that look. The rambling. I absolutely love the scruffy beard! Strangely I only knew him as the pinball wizard with funky outfits so as I've been watching him in preparation for his new movie I find myself getting a crush on a 20-something and finding the 30 to 40 something Elton extremely sexy... I don't know where I was now but it's a shame I had to wait until he 72 years old to appreciate him! lol
