Yea im also hearing a lot of Slania in this song but i fear it'll be like the last CoF album which had a KILLER first single and then after that everything was mid at best. Crawling King Chaos is amazing but the rest of the album is so mid.

I wouldn't say Slania. For the first two albums, the folk instruments and melodies were much more prominent, and they were seamlessly interwoven into the songs. Those albums had the perfect balance between metal and folk music. Plus, it was before they decided to add "core" elements to their sound. But don't get me wrong, it seems like I'm complaining a lot, but I do think this is a very good song. I've listened to it like 5 or 6 times (bear in mind that I have two jobs) already, but I just don't feel the Slania vibes.

Sometimes it feels like Eluveitie can't be real, the way they are the perfect blend of everything I want in music. They have such a wide range, a song for every mood. I can share their slow stuff with friends who aren't usually metal fans, and I can headbang to their heavy songs with friends who are. The lyrics are always beautiful and meaningful, too. I've had to stop listening to many metal bands when lyrics are misogynistic, but Eluveitie are not just welcoming, they are celebratory of all people. I'm so happy I discovered their music in 2008, and they are still going strong. Not afraid to experiment but they still remain true to their core sound.

Up until the 3:00 minute mark I was like "This is pretty good Eluveitie. Cool." Then it shifted and I was actually weeping by the end. Those last two minutes... damn. I cannot wait for the new album. Aidus is my favorite song of all time now, but this one comes pretty close.

The start of the song is a little rough honestly. Jumps straight into what sounds musically like a random verse in the middle of a song, and it's the kind of sound I don't really care for but acknowledge as coming with the territory for the genre. Usually it's sandwiched between parts I like more so I don't think much of it. So I've just been linking the song to people with the 3:00 timestamp because it's a fantastic song, but doesn't sound like it's going to be starting from 0:00 (the solo stuff in the middle isn't bad but it's kinda generic and to me isn't the highlight of the song so I skip it in the "try to get someone to actually listen" timestamp links).
