I’ve been following Joas and Priscilla and their family for about a year via Montana Haven, Alaska Edition. Glad to find your channel too! I love their videos! I look forward to every Friday and now more often Joas is doing a wonderful job of videoing his life and God’s beautiful places in Alaska...! I loved it, when he took us along their tour in Israel. Let Joas know that we Love that tan interior of his vehicle. My wife wanted that interior color in her Outback that I bought for her a couple of years ago for her 50th birthday. I found one in Tacoma (5 hour round trip) and drove over and bought it for her.

Glad to see you guys together! My Ford had a heater in the def tank go bad...but it sounds like you had frozen def in the fill tube. Maybe related to that snow you had getting in the fill door...Steve

It was something deeper. I thawed the fill stem but didn’t fix it. Only when temps warmed did it work right.

Wunderschöne Natur in Alaska und überhaupt in Nordamerika. Elvie, ein Diesel in der Region funktioniert nur mit Winterdiesel, wo nur ganz wenig Paraffin enthalten ist. Wenn Du Probleme hast, kippe zusätzlich etwas Benzin zum Diesel. Am besten, die Dieselleitung und der Tank sind beheizt im Winter. Kann man nachrüsten. Gruß aus Frankfurt

The diesel fuel wasn’t the problem. The issue is the DEF system, diesel exhaust fluid. It is 67% water so it freezes and tends to have issues at -40. The DEF tank has a heater but can’t seem to thaw it at that extreme temperature. The good news is it thawed eventually and I was able to operate normally.

Good luck Elvie. Yes minus 40 is a bad number. A larger heater can help you and better insulation. We had the problems in Russia for a many years, when we installed a chemicial plant. The other site, cover night the front mith a thicker tarp. That help you. @@AmishMeadowsOfficial

I thought about it a lot, I don’t know how the early people did it because of the extreme distance. It’s beyond my understanding. The distance from my home in Libby, Montana to Anchorage. Alaska is farther than to Philadelphia Pennsylvania on the East Coast.

I’d love to learn more about the Amish religion. I honestly don’t think that our beliefs are that much different from one another.

Many Amish people love the Lord. There are many different branches of Amish, and like any people group there are problems. 2000 was the year that we were separated from our people and have walked in a way where we are more joined with other churches in the body of Christ. So we are not walking in that traditional way of Amish if you know what I mean.

@@AmishMeadowsOfficial Yes I do understand and I’m sorry that you and your family had to go through that. I’ve seen churches split before. Several years ago there was a man in our church that caused a split. He has his own church now, but it’s almost cultish. Some of our neighbors go to that church and they are Not allowed to develop relationships / friendships with people from other churches. It’s so sad. Hey, have you ever heard of the WORD retreat? The men have them, as do women. It’s a nondenominational. It’s about men getting together from a Thursday afternoon to Sunday morning. I’m on the leadership team for the retreat this April. The church that’s hosting this retreat isn’t our church but I was asked to join the Team for April. If you would like to attend, let me know. I’ll send you the information so you can sign up. It’s $200, but that includes a bed in one of the cabins, all meals, soft drinks, water. The WORD retreat is aimed in a way that Men can grow in Christ. It’s Always in the mountains at a rented retreat area. It’s for anyone over the age of 18, but we’re beginning to change that so men can have their sons, 16 and older attend with their dads. I’d love to have you come join us. Think and pray about it. It originated in Alaska. Be Blessed my brother !
