I was 14 years old when I entered a competition to have a private performance from Elvis and the Attractions. I entered for my Brother who lived and breathed his lyrics and I grew up living his music. Elvis then a young man treated me and my Brother with respect that I will never forget. He asked what songs we wanted to hear and he did one after another. He is not another plastic pop star he is the most amazing musician and lyricist that has lived. If there was a way to meet him and tell him how he influenced my life as a now 53 year old woman I would tell him what a concert in Hammersmith as a teenager did for me. He is the most profound lyricist of our time and those that do no understand the collaborations he has formed through his musical diversity are probably not worthy of his music. I think intelligent people know he is a modern genius that gave us poetry in a format that even some of the morons that have commented here should be able to digest.

He knows the music biz inside out and has done well with it. Add to that, he's married to one of the most beautiful and superbly talented woman ever - Diana Krall. I love the contrast of Megan's fat, sexy tone against the two acoustic instruments. Great vocal arrangement. Elvis never had a "great" voice, but he's a fantastic singer. He always delivers.

This is from his 'Detour' tour from a couple of years ago, which was all solo except for a few numbers with Larkin Poe (also the opening act) at the end of each show. So nope, they didn't pay for bass & drums. The whole tour was pretty bare-bones.
