The press conference Elvis held upon arrival in Houston on February 25th, 1970 at the Airport Terminal.
He flew to Houston almost straight from his one-month stay in Vegas as he was one of the acts on the "Livestock Show & Rodeo" held at the massive Astrodome stadium and took the stage in a short three-day "engagement" from February 27 - March 1 (two shows a day).

You can tell how how face looked flushed the tired look of him has to do with fatigue, along with the use of Amphetamines dude to his twitching, and a Variety of anxiety and barbiturates dude so good lazy eyes, yes that can happen because of tiredness not not like this because he hardly does that which is my view thats he is on an assortment of Amphetamines and Sedatives possibly even Demerall.. He looks like he is really struggling and that their pumping him full of drugs so selfish parker could pay his gambling debts. So he often didn't sleep for days and just had plains and appearance without giving him time to sleep so they started giving him these meds

Elvis was beautiful inside and out. He had such al charismatic aura about him whether on stage performing on as in this interview. Poor Elvis, his eyes look exhausted in this interview. Throughout his entire career, Colonel Parker worked Elvis to the ground especially during the last years of his life when he was contracted to work 2 shows in Vegas, 7 days a week for years. In the end, Elvis was worn out. He will always be the King of Rockn Roll tp me.

Cool comment from Cory Wells. Many many people from the industry said the same thing he said. Hear that time again throughout the years. Mexican American actor/ musician Trini Lopez said in interview "Elvis was the nicest person I ever met. Wished more people in the industry were like him". Hell of compliment. Whenever I think of 3 Dog Night I always think of that great song "Never Been To Spain" that both their band & Elvis also recorded. Always liked their version, but Elvis live version he did on stage was really something. He & his band really ramped it up. Can hear the soul in EPs voice in NBTS.

I was born in 1990 and to be honest my mom is obsessed with him as for every other woman in the world haha but I never really got into Elvis til maybe I was 15 and I don’t know why but my mom showed me his movies and interviews and he really does make you feel like the only person in the room. He was such a sweet and loving and caring guy I only wish I could of got to see him perform or met him and I bet he would have the greatest stories to tell. I saw the new Elvis movie and it was amazing Austin Butler needs an Oscar so does Tom hanks and Baz!

I was born too late. So easy to see why he was The King. We grew up listening to Mojo Nixon sing "Elvis is everywhere", and it was a joke. People dressed up as impersonators, again, more foolishness. Thanks KZbin for letting us young folk look back on what we missed, a truly loveable star performer with more class in a fingernail than any other body since. Elvis and Cash, both of those guys were too soon for me to appreciate.

He finds it hard to do normal questions, as do I. Music brings alive his soul . He also felt most relaxed talking about the garbage. Something light hearted and funny. Something relatable and human. That’s why I love Elvis. He probably had to be on benzo’s to deal with this

I don't believe Elvis would have ever stopped being the most famous person on earth and would never ever stopped making big bucks if 7 years after this he hadn't passed, R.I.P. Elvis, I used to go collect soda bottles to buy your records as a kid in the 60's, my father was from Yazoo city Mississippi he also played music and told us stories of running across Elvis a couple times, once passing Elvis and the old car him and his band was in, Elvis and his band headed back towards Memphis and my dad and his band headed to Shreveport to the hay ride which my dad said he thought Elvis was headed from there because when my father got to Shreveport they told them Elvis had just played there then the time Elvis got turned down by the Oprey and my dad and his band walked past Elvis leaving with just that broken guitar neck in his hands crying and my dad said all his band members said wonder what happened to that kid, so the movie had that part right eventhough at the time in the early 50's my dad and his band members had no clue they were looking at the soon to be king of rock and roll they just thought he was some kid that played a strange kind of music to which they thought would never get off the ground, my father played the old style country music and that's all they ever really cared for because they were from the older generation, but after years went past and Elvis became the greatest entertainer that ever lived my dad said he was proud especially because Elvis was a boy from his home state of Mississippi.

He looked tired from work, from coming off the plane and not being himself that day. Yet he tried to be as polite as possible and professional. He gave to so many people. I think the people who were around him could’ve tried a little harder and protect him and not be so greedy in managing. He was pushed to an awful limit. Almost every single household in America and other parts of the world watched this man perform; if it was not at a concert it was on TV or listen to him on the radio.

My grandfather told me a story about how him and a friend went to the Louisiana hayride in Shreveport. Elvis got on stage and performed but nobody really knew him. The girls were crazy about some guy named smokey. So my grandfather his friend and Elvis went to a truck stop to get a bite to eat. A year or two later Elvis was the big time.

that’s crazy, my grandfather was there at the louisiana hayride too! he’d always retell the story of seeing elvis before the big fame. my grandfather told me that him and his buddies were about to leave because they didn’t really care for the other performer and had never heard of elvis before, but they ended up staying because they enjoyed elvis’s voice and style so much. also such a cool experience that your grandfather got to grab a bite with him as well! must be such a fond memory to look back upon.
