What I liked about Elvis is despite him being very professional in his approach with the Band in general, he didn't mind hamming it up on stage which you don't see anymore., , he was spontaneous with his humor many times and fooling about on stage with the songs. That's where his charisma really shone through as a performer. Today everything, even the jokes are rehearsed, and part of the performance.

@@samuhaapanen3235 To be honest although relatively accomplished he wasn't really a genuine black belt but he did have a passion for Karate and took it very seriously which is commendable, his substance abuse problems etc probably interfered with him achieving his true potential in the art. I'm not trying to diminish his abilties or legacy but I think it's important to remember him as he truly was as his talent and reputation in music speaks for itself without the need for some fictional, cardboard idolization of the man

I use to do every ELVIS move that Elvis did in That's the way it is when i was in my late teens to about around 30, some people said i had it down pat, what that means, i don't know. I didn't want to sound stupid, so i didn't ask. But this, back then i could do everything Elvis does here EXCEPT the finish. NO way, shape or form could i have done this finish, even in my younger days. I would have to end this song the way he did in the original That's the way it is. Big difference

I have a little bitty lap top, when i first saw this finish i thought where did ELVIS go? OK, what's he doing on the floor? Did he fall? Why are his legs like that? Can he get back up? Charlie get over there and help him up. LOL, only kidding. Anyway, this performance here is the BEST I've ever seen. From start to finish, it is flawless. On a scale of 1 to 10, it is an 11 BABY!!!!!!!

Talk about "do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight" as KC used to say. I love to watch him dance and "get down" on this one. Nobody knows how to "punch" it in like Elvis did with those karate moves. That's part of why his version of "Sweet Caroline" will always be better than Neil's. Elvis knew how to "punch" it in.

I always thought THIS version was the best rockin', high energy version of Patch It Up. The FTD fan club released this entire concert on CD about 15 years ago but I'd NEVER seen the audio until now. AMAZING! You could hear, if you listen closely enough, on the CD it's obvious Elvis dropped the mic on the floor at the no of the song, now I can see why! Thanks for posting this one. Just when you think you've seen everything from The King's archives, you see this. Why in the world this wasn't released in 1970 on the original TTWII movie. Maybe it was too risqué for the time.

Marty Duncan I've been asking myself that same question. The version in the film is TAME compared to this. Now in the original 1970 film there is a segment where a looked like a middle- aged woman says, I don't think ELVIS should have lied on the floor the way he did. And the reporter says, Why not? and the woman says, Just think of all the women that could have taken advantage of him. So maybe you're right, a little too risque for 1970.
