Love the story Bruce Springsteen tells where he climbed the fence got to the door, and a man said "Can I Help you"? Bruce said I would like to meet Elvis, and I am Bruce Springsteen and I am on the cover of TIME magizine. The man looked unimpressed and said, "Elvis is in Las Vegas".

Wow! Thank you so much for answering my question. And thank you for the way you answered it also. I never saw any problems with either time we went, last year in March, this year the first week of April. I personally loved it and wish I could’ve spent longer. I live in East Tn and you are 100% correct, you have to be watchful of your surroundings, no matter where you are! We stayed on Mud Island while in Memphis and it would’ve been wonderful to see how Memphis was when Elvis was alive! Also enjoyed Tupelo, we went to the Hardware, The Birthplace, by Lawhon Elementary, Johnnie’s Drive In, Fair Park etc…. Everyone was so polite and respectful when I’d ask questions that they probably have heard a 1000 times lol.

Thank you two for another great video-really appreciate hearing your experience :). I toured Graceland first time in 2022, and tour guide told us management did not want fans, (so family would be a “no”), as tour guides. As a random Elvis fan, I thought it WAS worth the money-I did feel his presence and thought his home was shown with respect to his memory. It is absolutely a business, so probably very hard for you and your family-I can’t imagine. As for Memphis, I’m an older single woman, and I did feel safe, but I used common sense. As you said, Danny, cities have changed, so exercise caution on a visit and a person should be fine. Thanks again, and have a great week! “Elvis Family Matters”!!!!

Hi Danny, and Teresa, I just wanted to tell you that I totally agree with you Danny that Graceland should have had family members with the tours that are held there. I heard years ago on television in a documentary with Dolly Parton where she confirmed that in Dollywood there are loads of her cousins giving tours out there. So its not impossible for Graceland to have done that. When I last visited Graceland in May 2019 I made it a point not to ask people there about Elvis because I figured most Elvis fans know the facts better then they do! Telling a true story coming from a family member would make those expensive tours worth while. Take Care.

Danny, I’m with you on the southern cooking. I’m from northeast Louisiana & I grew up with the same food y’all have. Love me some meat & potatoes. As for Memphis, it’s now like most major cities these days. It’s quite evident that there is much more crime everywhere & the root cause of it is drugs. Just the sad truth. The drug culture changed everything for the worse.

I'm glad someone asked why the family members don't do the tours at Graceland, because I have often wondered about that. Personally, I would rather get a tour from a family member who actually lived there and experienced life with Elvis. It's just not the same if you hear it from someone who wasn't actually there. I mean, how awesome would it be to not only meet one of Elvis' family members, but actually get a tour from them and some first hand account stories of their lives with Elvis. They could take the fans to places around Graceland and actually point out specific places and events and stories about Elvis. If the people who run Graceland want a specific script for tourists, then the family members could also throw those in. But sticking to the same script everytime might get to repetitive. Imagine everytime you visit Graceland there is a different family member with different stories.. It would make the experience so much better and it will always be different. I have never been, as I live in South Africa, but it is my dream to actually go there, and experience it first hand instead of living vicariously through other fans who tell their stories of being there. 💔 I always thought it would be so cool to go and end up bumping into you guys or Billy and Jo. I think I'd probably lose my sh*t...in a good way 😂 I've been a fan my entire life and two days ago, I finally got my daughter to give me two Elvis tattoos. I got the TCB ⚡logo and Elvis' signature. ❤ I display them on my arm proudly. Hope you guys have a great day further. Love your channel and your stories. ❤

When Graceland was first opened for public tours, the EPE management created an Elvis scripted image for the tour guides to recite to the public. The Smith family knew Elvis intimately. The family didn’t fit with the EPE standard protocol & were dismissed. I think EPE was afraid of what the Smith’s would share. PS You look & sound like our prayers have been answered

Danny my mother was Dutch and wasn’t great at cooking Southern food but l learned from my Aunts on my daddy’s side they taught me a lot about Country cooking (my daddy was a country boy/ one day my mom said “ l sure wish l had some good old collard greens and mashed potatoes homemade biscuits a good glass of iced tea! So l went to the store and bought the stuff, cooked everything at my house made the homemade biscuits took it to mommas house “ she was extremely happy and smacked her lips and said hmmmm it’s so good! Iam so happy l had done that for momma, couple years later she passed away but lam happy that l had done those little things for her ! Danny l know you miss those days at Graceland but you will always have those memories, you must think of Lisa a lot’ bless her heart she should have stayed at Graceland it should have become her home l truly believe that is what Elvis would have wanted “ all of the Smith family should have been there Elvis would have wanted that also ! Lisa Marie ‘ had her mother putting other things in her head, if Elvis knew all things that happened that wasn’t the way it should have been, when your Uncle Vernon told Pricilla that she could be Lisa’s overseer “ that was all she wrote”it was bound to be Cilla’s way or the highway but EP’s dad was sick and didn’t know what else to do! that was not the way Elvis would have wanted it! “ he was rolling over in his grave “ as the story goes “ l think You’re daddy and you’re mom should have been the (executer) If that’s the correct word for it ‘thank you both so much , Teresa and Danny ( and after all Danny who else can say Elvis Presley named me !!!!’ That is so cool 😂 you definitely are blessed! 😂🙏🇺🇸 Hope you’re healing well ! That's right Southern cooking. That's what we eat in North Carolina. My small town isn't the same either. I had my license plate stolen off the back of my car while I was sleeping. Pretty scary. That's great that Elvis would have got a kick out of someone doing something risky and crazy like jumping in his pool! Most celebrities want even make eye contact, but that could be due to so many crazy people out there.

I watched Elvis 3 times and it’s sad that you and all could not been involved and a true story of Elvis could have been made. I heard in the movie first time the ones around Elvis were called Hillbillies. That’s mainly cause the Hollywood idiots only think of themselves and the stardom’s goes to their heads. I feel the same as you are saying now. We don’t go to Memphis because of crime and we are older. I would love to go see it one more time.
