Few people who get wealthy. Have the heart Elvis had. He gave. To people. Liberally. When he didn't have too,, friends strangers. Didn't matter. Such a good heart. He had his down falls I know we all do. But over all elvis stood tall,,,,so many stories of Elvis giving them, things. That they could never efford themselves. But elvis took joy in helping others. That's is the real joy in,life. When all said and done

He said ,, he wanted to make people happy, well he certainly did!! Not just by the things he gave them, but his talent, his music, his heart, and let's don't forget what a beautiful spirit he was! Inside and out!! And is still making people happy these many years after his death!! RIP, Elvis!!

His selflessness in the thrill of giving to others is why he is still adored until this day.

The person speaking about Elvis ’father Vernons reaction to what Elvis gave away, is George Klein ,a childhood friend of Elvis, who knew him really well, both before and after he became famous. And the stayed friends throughout his lifetime. You schould watch and react to Baz Luhrmanns interview With Elvis’ childhood friend from Tupelo,Sam Bell,it’s really heartwarming. ❤️And there is at least one more video on Elvis ’ generousity ,apart from the folkowing in this series, ” 200 Cadillacs ” .

Unfortunately his ex-wife has - while succesfully marketing Elvis' legacy - managed to make younger generations think she was actually his widow instead of his ex. Priscilla Beaulieu has changed a lot of Elvis history to suit her story. I'm sure he loved her for some of the time they knew each other, but in reality, she barely spent any time alone with him. They met in September 1959 in Germany and he returned to the US in March of 1960. Then they did not have any contact until 1962, the year of her first visit to him in Memphis, from where they (which included his entire entourage) traveled to Las Vegas. She was 17 then (born May 24, 1945). In December she visited again, for Christmas. In 1963 she first moved in with Elvis' father Vernon and stepmother Dee, but after a while she moved into the main house. During these years, Elvis was away from Memphis a lot, making 3 movies a year in Hollywood or locations such as Hawaii. And during all these years he was also still seeing other women. Priscilla herself said multiple times they were hardly ever alone. According to Priscilla, Elvis had promised to marry her when she was 21. But as her birthday had come and gone and her 22nd birthday was approaching and Elvis still had not kept his word, Priscilla, her parents and the colonel (Tom Parker) visited Elvis on a movie set. Nobody knows what really happened there, except that some time during that visit, Elvis had a mysterious fall in the bathroom. All of a sudden everything escalated and a quick wedding ceremony was arranged on May 1, 1967 (23 days before Priscilla's 22nd birthday) in Las Vegas. The strange thing about that was not just the timing, but also that many people who were close to Elvis were contacted by Parker's people to not attend the wedding. The whole ceremony took just a few minutes and afterwards they were ushered into a room for a press conference. Priscilla soon became pregnant, but halfway through her pregnancy, Elvis already wanted to divorce her. 9 months after the wedding, daughter Lisa Marie was born, after which there was almost no physical relationship between Elvis and Priscilla. By then the 1968 Comeback Special had given a new impulse to his career and from 1969 on he was away from Memphis touring the US for an average of 200 days a year. Both Elvis and Priscilla had affairs during their short marriage. They separated in February of 1972 and Elvis filed for divorce on his 38th birthday, January 8, 1973. The divorce was finalized in October of 1973. Priscilla rejected the name Presley and returned to her maiden name Beaulieu after the divorce, stating she wanted to be her own person. She even started a business under that name. But after Elvis died, she soon changed her name to Beaulieu-Presley and some time after that she dropped her maiden name and started calling herself Presley again. She had several relationships after her divorce. In 1984 she met Marco Garibaldi with whom she had a relationship for 21 years. They separated in 2006. Together they had a son, Navarone, in 1987. She never married Garibaldi, although she had a much longer relationship with him than she'd had with Elvis, possibly because she wanted to hang on to the Presley name. Interesting detail is that Elvis did not mention Priscilla at all in his will; not even as guardian of his only child, Lisa Marie.

There is a documentary about Elvis and the USS Arizona, it goes into more detail. Also, what they forgot was that Elvis donated 50 grand to help start St. Judes Children's Hospital. The saddest thing about Elvis' real legacy is that so few know that there are so many things that would not exist if not for Elvis.

I think he had a Community Youth Center built in East Tupelo, they used to have Elvis days, and 56 an 57 WDIA Goodwill Revue events the 57 one he may have performed in. I think Aloha from Hawaii was a fundraiser for the Kui Lee Cancer fund.
