I was being babysat by a family friend when I was about 6 years old, (about 1969) and we watched Jailhouse Rock on TV. Well I didn't know the name of the movie or the man or anything but on the drive home I told my Mom all about the movie. When we got home and she pulls out an album and puts in on and says something coy like, "is this the movie you are talking about?" like she really wasn't sure. I pulled up a chair and literally watched the record spin while it played. Yes he was only a man, one with demons who could have made some better choices in his life. But OMG how he captured me; his voice, his looks, his moves then later I learned about his generosity of spirit and that he had a great sense of humor. A few entertainers have come close but Elvis truly was and, (to me) will always be The King!

Yes, you are correct, and that dirtbag thief was JOHNNY RIVERS, who stole that song, MEMPHIS TENNESSEE, from Elvis. When Elvis heard it on the radio, he was hurt and blew up, but only said something like, “Well, hell with it. Let him keep it. He probably needs it.” But, he never publicized it and even gave that thief good reserved tables when he came to see him in Las Vegas.

@@marilynwillett804 check your research Elvis was not happy starting isolating himself becuz of his appearance and because of the horrible book that sunny and red west wrote abt his PERSONAL LIFE trust I am not wrong abt these things i know everything u could possibly know abt Elvis. ELVIS ALSO WROTE OUT AN EXPLANATION FOR HIS NEXT TOUR TO LET HIS FANS KNOW EXACTLY WHAT MEDICAL PROBLEMS AND WHY HE WAS ON ALL THESE MEDS BECUZ HE WAS IN EXTREME PAIN BECAUSE OF HIS TWISTED COLON WHICH LISA MARIE DIED OF ALSO HE DID HAVE MANY MEDICAL PROBLEMS also his grandparents on his mothers side where 1 st cousins which contributed to the family medical problems. Elvis was also told early in his life that he would need to have a colostomy bag or he would end up dying and this is Elvis Presley refused to have this done this is why he is more bloated and less bloated in his last concerts. If you look at him through out his life he would be bloated and then not be bloated because he was able to go to the bathroom. He was extremely embarrassed by his appearance in his later years and was attacked in the Memphis movie theater by a woman who called him fat and disgusting JOE ESPOSITO AND CHARLIE HODGE BOTH TOLD THIS STORY AND ELVIS LWFT THE THEATER VERY HURT AND EMBARRASSED OR NEWS PAPER HEADLINES FAT AND FORTY HE RECORDED HIS LAST ALBUM IN THE JUNGLE ROOM AND DID NOT GO TO THE RECORDING STUDIO BECUZ HE WAS ISOLATING HIS SELF. People were cruel to him he didn’t move on stage he also had an episode on stage where he had to sit and afterwards was taken to the hospital BUT FINISHED HIS SHOW. PEOPLE ARE CRUEL WAS U REACH A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF FAME JUST LIKE WHITNEY HOUSTON EVERYONE WAS SO HORRIBLE TO HER WHEN SHE WAS ON TOUR IN 2010 AFTER WORKING SO HARD TO MAKE HER COMEBACK AND BECUZ SHE WAS HAVING PROBLEMS SHE WAS DESTROYED BY MANY PEOPLE BUT WHEN SHE DIED SHE WAS AN ANGEL. Look up ANN MARGARETS INTERVIEW ON KZbin WHEN SHE TALKS ABT HOW EVERYONE WAS SO CRUEL TO HIM BUT WHEN HE DIED HE WAS WONDERFUL HER WORDS WHY DIDNT ANYONE SAY IT WHEN HE WAS ALIVE !!!!!! I LOVE ELVIS IT BREAKS MY HEART TO SEE HIM SO SICK IN THE LATE 70s BUT WHETHER I WENT TO A CONCERT OF HIS IN 1977 OR A CONCERT OF WHITNEY HOUSTON IN 2010 I WOULD STILL BE GRATEFUL FOR THE CHANCE TO JUST BE THERE TO SEE THEM PERFORM WHETHER WHITNEY WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH HER VOICE OR ELVIS HAVING ISSUES AT HIS CONCERTS IT DIDNT NATTER TO ME THEY BOTH WERE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN IN THEIR CAREERS AND I STILL WOULD HAVE THE MOST RESPECT THAT THEY BOTH GOT ON THAT STAGE KNOWING HOW PEOPLE WHERE TREATING THEM SO YOU ARE VERY WRONG ABT HOW OR WHAT U OBSERVED BUT I SUGGEST U CHECK UR FACTS I THINK IVE GIVEN U ENOUGH DATA TO LOOK INTO. BUT I AM SURE THAT THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER KING OF ROCK AND ROLL AND IM SURE THERE WILL NEVER BE A DAY LIKE 8/16/1977 WHEN 80 THOUSAND PEOPLE SHOULD UP IN MEMPHIS TO HONOR HIM LEARN UR FACTS BEFORE U MAKE STATEMENTS THAT ARE NOT TRUTHFUL

@@marilynwillett804 everyone loved him in 1977 putting headlines on the news paper FAT AND FORTY !!! Elvis’s appearance was very important to him so when he started getting BLOATED from a twisted colon which Lisa Marie also died of a genetic disorder that was extremely painfull BUT he still toured for people like you instead of doing what his family wanted and take time off. NO INSTEAD HE TOOK THAT STAGE IN 1977 AND ON HIS NEXT TOUR HAD WRITTEN AN EXPLANATION TO HIS FANS ABT WHAT EXACTLY WAS HAPPENING TO HIM BECAUSE HE CARED WHAT HIS FANS THOUGHT AND BECAUSE OF SUNNY AND RED WEST “ close friends “ writing a book exposing his PERSONAL LIFE TO THE WORLD ….10 DAYS LATER HE WAS DEAD. I WASN’T ALIVE IN 1977 BUT IF I HAD THE CHANCE TO SEE HIM IN CONCERT I WOULD HAVE RESPECTED HIM WHETHER HE LOOKED HEALTHY OR NOT…PEOPLES LOVE FOR ELVIS GOES DEEPER THAN WHAT HE LOOKED LIKE AT THE END OF HIS LIFE. EVERYONE WHO SAW THOSE CONCERTS KNEW HE WAS IN TROUBLE. DID YOU ALSO KNOW THAT LISA MARIE WAS ASKING HIM IF HE WAS GOING TO DIE !!?? ELVIS DID START TO SELF ISOLATE BECAUSE OF HIS APPEARANCE JOE ESPOSITO AND CHARLIE HODGE HAVE SAID THAT AND TRIED TO STOP HIM FROM CONTINUING THIS TOUR BUT HE NEEDED TO PAY DEBTS LIKE COL PARKERS GAMBLING DEBTS AND HIS EMPLOYEES ..HE STARTED RECORDING IN 1976 IN THE JUNGLE ROOM OF GRACELAND BECAUSE OF HIS APPEARANCE HE WAS ALSO VERBALLY ATTACK BY AN OLD LADY AT THE MEMPHIAN THEATER BECAUSE HER DAUGHTER HAD TO WORK LATER AND THEY CLOSED THE THEATER FOR ELVIS AND HIS FRIENDS AND SHE SAID SOMETHING VERY NASTY ABT HIS WEIGHT AND HE OFFERED TO BUY THE KID A CAR BECUZ THE MOTHER HAD TO PICK HER UP THATS WHY SHE WAS WORKING LATE AND ELVIS LEFT THE THEATER WITH TEARS IN HIS EYES. ELVIS WAS NEVER FAT HE WAS BLOATED BECAUSE OF A TWISTED COLON HE WAS TOLD EARLY IN LIFE THAT EVENTUALLY HE WOULD DIE IF HE DID NOT HAVE A Colostomy BAG BECAUSE OF THIS TWISTED COLON AND HE DID NOT WANT TO DO IT. WATCH SOME OF HIS MOVIES CONCERTS AND YOU CAN TELL HE IS BLOATED AND THEN NOT BLOATED BECAUSE HE WAS ABLE TO GO TO THE BATHROOM. Also his grandparents were 1st cousins that why he had so many health problems and took medication to stop the horrible pain he was in to perform on stage . ALSO ANN MARGARET ALSO ASKED WHY NO ONE EVER TOLD HIM HOW SPECIAL HE WAS WHEN HE WAS ALIVE BUT NOW THAT HES GONE HES WONDERFUL. PEOPLE DESTROY PEOPLE WHO REACH A CERTAIN LEVEL OF FAME SAME WITH WHITNEY HOUSTON ( who’s mother sang with Elvis ) during her last tours where people were walking out of her shows WHEN SHE WAS WORKING SO HARD TO MAKE HER COMEBACK SOMEONE SAYING “SHE COULDN’T SING TO A DEAD RAT “ LOOK IT UP IT WAS IN AUSTRALIA. IF HAD GOTTEN THE CHANCE TO SEE ELVIS LIVE IN 1977 IT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE GREATEST HONOR TO ME AND THERE IS NO WAY THAT I WOULD HAVE SAID HE WAS FAT OR HIGH SAME WITH WHITNEY HOUSTON WOULD HAVE BEEN AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE TO SEE HER PERFORM WELL OR NOT I WOULD HAVE STAYED FOR BOTH. FAME DESTROYS PEOPLE IT DESTROYED ELVIS AND ALSO NOT TO MENTION HIS WIFE WALKING OUT ON HIM WHEN HE NEEDED HELP AND WHITNEY MAKING A COMEBACK WORLD TOUR AND BOTH HAVING TO HEAR WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING ABT THEM. DO YOU NOT THINK THAT AFFECTED EITHER OF THEM DO YOU THINK ELVIS WAS HAPPY WITH HIS APPEARANCE OR WHITNEY WAS HAPPY THAT HER VOICE WAS FAILING HER. NO ONE SAID THAT ELVIS LOOKED BAD IN 1977 AND LIKE I SAID I WOULD HAVE SEEN HIM IN ANY CONDITION AND WHITNEY ALSO BUT FOR YOU TO SAY HE LOOKED GREAT IN 1977 IS A SHAME BECAUSE IMO U WERE ONLY THERE TO SEE THE PERFORMANCE NOT WHAT WAS HAPPENING TO ELVIS……HE WAS DYING …..ON STAGE FOR HIS FANS SO PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME I AM WRONG HE LOOKED GREAT THAT JUST TELLS ME THAT U DIDNT LOOK AT HIM AS A SICK MAN THAT NEEDED HELP AND THAT IS NOT A REAL FAN. HIS REAL FANS WALKED AWAY FROM THAT CONCERT 1 being ( pat boone ) ALSO A SINGER AND FRIEND TO ELVIS SAID TO HIS WIFE AFTER THE JUNE 26th show that ELVIS IS REALLY SICK AND LOOKS LIKE A DYING MAN….. and as a friend offered him help and a place to stay in California and Elvis said he was going to Hawaii after that tour and was going to work on his health BUT HE NEVER GOT THE CHANCE BECAUSE HE WAS DEAD WEEKS LATER SO PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME THAT HE LOOKED GREAT IN 1977 BECAUSE I TRY NOT TO WATCH THOSE CONCERTS BECAUSE IT BREAKS MY HEART TO SEE THE PAIN AND HURT AND THE CONDITION HIS HEALTH WAS IN OBVIOUSLY YOUR ARE NOT A FAN THAT WAS INTERESTED IN HIM BEING SO SICK BUT STILL ON STAGE PERFORMING WEEKS BEFORE HIS DEATH FOR YOU. I SEE A MAN THAT NEEDED HELP AND WISH TO GOD THAT HE HAD GOTTEN IT MAYBE HE WOULD HAVE HAD THE CHANCE TO SEE HIS DAUGHTER GROW A LITTLE OLDER BUT NO ONE TRIED TO HELP HE WAS USED AS A PAYCHECK TO THE PEOPLE THAT SHOULD HAVE TAKEN CARE OF HIM……..
