Thank GOD he recorded some gospel albums that carry serious presence of the KING OF KINGS!!! Though I'll definetly be crying but I'll have at the end of the day, a means to transport myself to GOD'S presence like Elvis did with his band members through singing gospel songs hours after a show and in this case, gave a circular, large audience, a glimpse of what heaven is about.

@Max Lannon , no he doesn't, Tim Storms has hit a G-7. That is a G 7 octaves below the lowest G on a piano, only animals can hear it. It is below human hearing. It takes 5 seconds for his vocal chords to vibrate for that note. Verified by Guinness. Tim also holds the record for greatest range of a man at 10 octaves.

It’s ok to cry. I cry with a lot of his Gospel music. It’s so pure and one can tell it’s his favorite. He received 3 Grammys for his Gospel music. Can you imagine? With all he was famous for and all the top hits, he was proudest of his Gospel music for he truly loved the Lord and always spoke with those who were religious what his feelings were along with asking those questions he searched for about God. You were wonderful reacting to this. I thank you for your emotions. It’s pure and nothing wrong with it.

JD tells the story of not seeing Elvis there one week and asked why he hadn't been at the show and Elvis said he didn't have the money for the admission and J D told him not to worry about money again he would let him in free next time 😍 when Elvis started touring in early 70s he wanted JD and his Stamps Quartet to sing backing...they weren't sure as they were obviously gospel but Elvis convinced them. Elvis was so proud to have the deepest bass sing with him...JD was like a second father figure to him...JD sang at Elvis funeral 😪

Gospel was Elvis's passion, As a child he was accepted by & into the Black Church near his home grew up in the church & even sang in the church choir. It was routine after a concert he & his inner circle would go up to his room hit the piano & sing gospel for hours. The only grammy awards he won were for his gospel work. He worked with so many singers The Sweet Inspiration are there as well with him & Whitney Houston's mother was a member of that group. His backing singers on this are The Jordanaires.. They were his favorite travelling gospel group growing up.. Once as a kid because he was so poor he tried to sneak into the tent but was caught by one of the singers. He looked at Elvis & in an act of kindness let him stay. He never forgot that & when he hit it big he called them and asked if they would be his backup singers.

Elvis was warned not to do this song in Vegas, that the audience would not be ready for this type of music. He did it anyway, and received a five minute standing ovation. This song, and «Why Me, Lord» , was included in hundreds of concerts. Elvis LOVED gospel music, and released three albums with gospel music during his lifetime. Incredibly enough, he received only three Grammys, all for his gospel music. Elvis, missed by millions to this day. The background vocals was done by J.D. Elvis' true love was gospel. As a teen he was a member of the East Trigg Avenue Baptist Choir led by the great gospel composer and Civil Rights gadfly W. Herbert Brewster. (Brewster said "Elvis' voice was the voice of Calvary. He had that kind of bent and inclination and ATTITUDE that suggested that God could use him.") Elvis saw his rock songs as "bubblegum," much as he loved rock and roll. He warmed up for those performances (even on the set of Jailhouse Rock) by singing gospel. He unwound from his concerts the same way, late at night in his suite with his backup singers and celebrities and ordinary people who joined him. As his backup Cissy Houston said, "You can't get away from your roots. Everything Elvis did had that gospel flavor."

As for me, I am a front line health care worker. For the past 18 months have not been able to attend church service due to the pandemic. Just like Elvis who stopped a concert to worship God, I too, have stopped during my duties to worship God in spirit and in truth. I thank God for the gift he gave the world.
