I don't think he ever even focused on technique, it just came natural to him, and just sang from the heart. That's why so much people connect with him, because you can feel it.

I don't fully agree regarding the technique. Yes, it was mostly natural or self-taught, but notice how he changes the distance between his mouth and the mic. Indeed, he made it look all natural.

It’s beautiful he sings it so well. He was tired out coming to the end of his life. His albums were not selling well in order to earn money he did two concerts a day to earn money plus to pay a good wage with everyone on the stage. Amazing singer amazing voice beautiful kind human being. Even when he took a break between Vegas shows media followed him everywhere he never got peace. There’s a movie documentary called Searcher about his life. You should watch it. Excellent viewing we watched it on Netflix about two years ago. Thanks James another enjoyable reaction 🤩👍

There is a film about Elvis coming out next year in cinemas and was delayed as it should have been released this year. I think the film is just titled Elvis but not 100% sure on that. It stars Tom Hanks as the colonel and Austin Butler as Elvis and the film is about the relationship Elvis had with his manager. Also Kurt Russell did a good film on his life story I think that film came out in 1979

Perfect biopic is a two volume series by Peter Guralnick. 1st is Last train to Memphis & volume 2 is called Careless Love. They are each 500/600 pages. But they are detailed, sensitive and objective. The author liked Elvis very much so it’s not a hate biopic. I listened to the audiobooks but kept falling asleep and there is lot of details I kept missing, so I listened to them a second time and still missed things. I finally bought the books and read them. It’s known as THE Elvis biopic. Thanks so much for sharing your video with us. Always enjoy your reactions. God bless. 👍🏻🎸🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻🎸🎤

Funnily enough, he starts the song off too early on this worldwide live broadcast (check out maestro Joe Guercio gesturing to the strings to scrap the rest of the intro in panic), but makes up with a fantastic performance. Goosebumps? I still get them after 25 years of constantly listening to his live performances.

Oh my goodness... I just listened to this song about 3 hrs ago, and I was listening to more of your videos and I had to watch your reaction to this song again! This concert, seen by a billion people, by satellite in 1973, is the Best concert I have ever seen! He did 3 shows in 3 days for the Kualia ( forgive spelling) Cancer Drive. What a beautiful, generous soul Elvis was.

Great review James, I think the version you played was actually the rehearsal ? Try and watch the official broadcast version, it was actually a day later ? You can always tell because he'd had a haircut! Theres a new biopic coming out soon by Baz Lurman featuring Tom Hanks? Big budget so should be good? 👍👍

I do believe his technique came naturally, but he listened and absorbed everything since he was a kid. I think many people don’t realize how many shows he did in his early years to learn and refine his craft. How would you like to have a little time watching him when he first received a song and worked on it?
@margarettaylor81072 жыл бұрын
Every movie this far have embellished the so called bad in his life. They do not show how kind gentle and generous he was. They go by what lies have been told about him because they are more salacious. This new one will not idolize him as a great man either .there has been an on going effort since his career began to tarnish his popularity. He brushed his teeth six or seven times a day..even after drinking a sida.

Hope i'm not duplicating this bit of info on the Hawaii ramp but here goes: Producer/director Marty Pasetta told Parker he wanted to build a ramp for Elvis to walk out onto & Parker said no. Pasetta explained that it would be 8 ft. wide & Elvis could stay in the middle or go to the left or to the right if he wanted to (Pasetta knew how important the audience was to Elvis); Parker said no. Fortunately, Pasetta was able to meet w-Elvis & he explained exactly what he told Parker; Fortunately again, Elvis overrode Parker & told Pasetta to build the ramp. Paseta told Elvis he wanted him to lose 25 lbs., which Elvis did. Elvis then hugged Pasetta & said you are one of the few people who has been totally honest w-me. Imagine how different that concert would have been if Elvis didn't have the option to get in close contact w-his audience. HE would have been just as spectacular, but without the ramp the concert would have had a very different feel. Regarding this song here there is an interesting side by side video of rehearsal/live at kzbin.info/www/bejne/gouqp3iJr7Oae7s w-no ads covering him up (those ads over him make me crazy - i do a lot of searching to try & avoid them). Thank you very much for this.
