I met JD several years ago at the National Quartet Convention when it was in Louisville KY. He really was a nice man. I believe he was one of the most kind hearted people in the music business. If I recall correctly he died not too long after I met him. I am glad I had the privilege to meet him. He had a voice like no other!

I have known J.D.Sumner all of my life . Both of my parents knew J.D. and many others as teenagers in their lives respectively . You can believe every word that JD Sumner has to say concerning Elvis. The Presley family treated and felt J.D more like family then a life long friend . ," Which J. D. was . One of Elvis ' s favorite quartet's other then the Stamps quartet , was a group called " The Blackwood Brother Quartet '' . Elvis loved one of the founding members , James Blackwood Sr. .... again , one of my oldest friends . Elvis had so much respect for James , he refused to call him by his first name . Elvis always called him Mr. Blackwood . They are all gone now and I miss each of them !

He came out onstage in his beautiful white Cape and waved to the audience. J.D. explained that he wasn't allowed to sing or even speak to us because of his contracts, but it was a thrill to see him.

Love JD and we know Gospel was probably Elvis' favorite music, but we all know that is not all he listened to, and he had a wide range of things he listened to. An executive of RCA had went through Elvis' record collection, and was amazed at his wide range of music. From Mario Lanza to spanish classics to the blues. So, love you JD, but Elvis had albums on many different types of music.

@@deanbrandt2748 Larry was one of Elvis' hairdressers. He came and went at different times, but was there, including during a movie or two. Larry said it was Vernon who asked him to do Elvis' hair to prepare him for his coffin. Charlie Hodge said he would accompany Larry, and together they went to the funeral home. Larry used a lady funeral attendant's mascara to color the white roots of Elvis' hair, which took some time. Charlie also cut his hair while there. Apart from Charlie and Larry, a longtime friend who lived with Elvis and the guys in L.A., Patti Perry also did his hair at various times. It was Patti who did his hair for the Hawaiian Satellite show in 1973 because he wasn't happy with the way it looked in the rehearsal show. I don't know why JD would deny Larry's account, other than saying Elvis never had a single person actually titled as his hairdresser.

@@francoisfavreau769 I agree, this isn't the only thing that Gellar has said that others said was not true. Col Parker and a few others tried to keep him away from Elvis because he was pushing all kinds of stuff they considered weird on Elvis and thought it was a big reason why Elvis started acting differently and not wanting to record anymore and other stuff. He even said he was gonna quit showbiz once and become a monk after Gellar took him and introduced to him to this lady who ran some kind of monisary in California. I cant remember what the place is called but it's still there. So yeah I kinda think those guys were right and Larry Gellar took advantage of Elvis' spirituality or more so his question of why he was given the talent he was given and able to have the life he was living and used that get close to Elvis by showing him all kinds of things that especially for regular southern boys back in the late 60 and early 70s was considered weird or hippie like to them.

Who to believe, Larry Geller or J.D. Sumner. Sumner by his own admission was drinking two fifths a day when he worked for Elvis, he said he even drank onstage, telling Elvis it enabled him to sing low. I'm not saying anyone is being purposely deceitful, I've always liked J.D. and grew up listening to him and other southern gospel singers, and maybe his account is 100% accurate. However, I also think there exists the possibility of one's memory being a bit cloudy due to drinking two fifths of alcohol a day, as heavy alcohol use has been proven to damage memory function.

Byron, I named only Larry in my comment, because he had an important part in Elvis life, not only as hairdresser, but I know also that Charlie helped him a lot. I like Charlie and I think that he has been understated and wrongly judged also by Vernon Presley ,who threw him out of Graceland after Elvis's death. He was a musician, he played and harmonized with Elvis, he supported Elvis on the stage, his role was more meaningful than the others' and I think that he was a loyal friend. Patty Parry too sometimes took care of Elvis's hair, but Vernon asked Larry to do his son's hair in the casket.

Anna Marie Facchiano , I was going to suggest asking those around Elvis . They to have all died as well as Elvis. Many people try yo make themselves to be a little more important then they should. . For instance, Shawn Neilson who sang for the Elvis tour for around the last few years of Elvis life and concert years felt he was Elvis's favorite singer , It's even on hi s little tomb stone . It's sad that the truth is being mixed together with made up stories. All over Facebook or blogs dedicated to these crasy stories . I gill I your a well your a well educated woman and I know you will see the truth over these outlandish stories. Geller also states he was Elvis spiritual leaders. That to is untrue .

I've avoided gossips and books written only for money, vanity and visibility.I do not want to be presumptuous, but guided by my instinct,, my love to him, and all the books by reliable and documented authors,I think to Know, just a little bit, Elvis (a genius can't be completely understood) and I think to be able to distinguish a true news from a false one. As you know. Elvis after the crazy 50s, when he was young, famous, handsome, sexy, adored by women, he became a spiritual man, looking for answers to his inquisitive mind, about the meaning of his life, the reason of his surviving to his dead tween, about his fame, about God's goals on him and so on, he found in Larry someone who could understand and help him in his quest. Nobody, around him, even his wife, shared his interests. That's why I trust Larry , he talked hours with him, he prayed with him he meditated with him, he loved him.Ciao!

I heard that his spiritual adviser, personal friend and hair stylist Larry Geller, did Elvis's hair. He said he borrowed a small tube of Black mascara to cover the growth of gray hair and doing this took him 45 minutes to complete. The video is on here to watch.

Sumner skirts a lot of questions and drones on about much of nothing. His answer to a question about a life insurance policy on Elvis made no sense. Elvis did have a life insurance policy for several million dollars. When asked if Elvis was really dead, Sumner couldn't answer directly. Instead, he jumped to his Mother's death the year before. I don't believe Sumner wasn't called about the tour being cancelled. He was an integral part of the show. Very evasive. I believe Elvis is dead but these guys don't help by evading the questions. How hard is it to say, Elvis is dead?? Sumner died in 1998.

His question about the life insurance policy made perfect sense? The Presleys couldn’t afford a life insurance policy when he was a kid and there was no need for when Elvis was an adult because he had plenty of money. Simple truth! I understood it? What was so difficult to understand?

I recently read David Stanley's book on ELVIS. In the book he describes how he got up to Elvis' bedroom on Aug. 16th, 1977. When the paramedics got up there he told them Elvis' OD'd Will we ever really know? All we have is the books & their accounts on his passing.

+HD_AUDIO personally in my opinion he was tired of everything a evverbody using him a the loss of his family he loved he believed he failed at love ELVIS use to say what does it matter if you have money car jewelry a everything in material s if you're not Happy. I believe after Elvis got older he wanted to get out of the business a get clean a start living for Jesus Christ a somebody didn't wanna see him do this a I believe he tried to get out get away a he was murdered. to make money off him dead or either Elvis had help getting away to fake his death in 77 but I believe he's dead now this is what 40 yrs later a people are still talking a asking questions why the big cover up. ?????

HD_AUDIO, David was NOT in the bathroom. He drove a friend of the property when he heard Elvis was "sick". When he came back he met with Billy Smith and Billy got in the car and they drove to the hospital. David place himself everywhere that day.- Its was Al Strada who made the OD remark, not David.

This is not meant to bash anyone ... it is meant to tell the truth. Motives that lead me to believe that Elvis did not die in 1977. 1- The picture of him in the coffin, he had the appearance of an Elvis in his 30 years and slim.. Elvis was bloated and older. 2- His (family) did not claimed the insurance policy of 1 million dollars. In case they took that money, it would have been illegal. 3 - The woman who lived with him at the time Ginger Alden did not claim inheritance. 4 - No photo of the body made by the police and why not?. 5 - Elvis's cousin Gene smith said that the one in the coffin was not Elvis ... 6 - on that date of his death Elvis had more new concerts and did not want to make new costumes for his show or new music ... usually he would always change everything with each new album and show .. in fact he knew in advance that he would not do any more concerts. 7 - Elvis' friends also had his employees buy a ticket that day for a guy with the look and voice of Elvis with the name of Mr. John Burrows heading to Argentina. 9 - at the autopsy, medical examiners did not mention overdoses of illicit drugs and drugs (medicine). All Elvis friends and relatives said that Elvis drank heavily and used cocaine among other illicit drugs. Funny that this was not mentioned at the same autopsy. 10 - In the tomb of the Elvis was purposely put the wrong name .. AAron Presley with 2 As .. in fact Elvis's name was with an Aron Presley. 11 - Elvis was a threatened with death by an organization called: "the fraternity" and "CIA" with which the FBI put Elvis in witness protection .... providing him a new name and social security number. 12 - before giving Elvis as dead .. the same day a black helicopter landed in Graceland... a man hiding entered that helicopter and took off. 13 - Elvis was used by the FBI to find out about Mafia transactions (mobsters) in the sale of an airplane ... with that, Elvis was sworn to death by them. 14 - in an interview among others in the program of Oprah winfrey 2005 Priscilla Presley let slip up again that Elvis spoil Lisa Presley too much .. using the verb in the present tense and never in the past ..... Priscilla said: "It's exactly what he said the other day "before correcting herself and saying," you said, "to Oprah. 15 - in another interview this time with Elvis Presley's daughter Lisa.. the famous Larry king asked her if she still has communicated with Elvis to see if she would also deliver that elvis would be alive ... Lisa Presley replied: "I do not want to talk about this "weird isn't though?" 16 - A man with the appearance of Elvis older, grey hair and gestures of the same one was filmed and photographed taking care of the garden in Graceland when it's not open to public visits... 17 - A nurse (Baptist Memorial Hospital) said that the man's body was not Elvis'. 18 - A man named Major Bill LaCarn Smith claimed to have been Elvis producer in the late 80s' and had a tape recorded on Elvis' speech... He claims that Elvis is alive. 19 - Joe esposito said Elvis was on the floor in the bathroom when the ambulance came in. In the same day elvis death, Esposito said Elvis was lying on the bed when the ambulance came in ( he let the cat out of the beg. for sure elvis didn't die in august 1977.... All the proofs are on youtube, blogs and official sites... plus, mister Trump promised us to free Elvis bringing him back he needs a Presidential pardon to come out of witness protection ... Anyway, I'm still a huge fan of the king of rock and roll... kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqbNeJd_Zt90jNE on this video I can say the Information may be right but Elvis himself faked his voice here www.classicbands.com/MajorBillSmithInterview.html ELVIS IS ALIVE. 1978 POOL HOUSE DOOR PHOTO kzbin.info/www/bejne/noCrn5yrlpKHq80 Joe Esposito let the whole cat out of the bag when he said Elvis was on the bed.. Elvis was in the bathroom when he was pronounced dead In his recently published book, "One Gay Man" Donald Taylor claims that Elvis blew him one time. www.howardstern.com/show/2007/6/5/gay-hollywood-ldquodark-chocolate-bars-RundownGalleryModel-9733/ www.topix.com/forum/who/elvis-presley/T2QJSRM6735LI8RGR/elvis-was-a-closed-homosexual kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5rQXquBYsSrm68 ELVIS IS ALIVE !!!! - " News Media Coverage " lindahoodsigmontruth.com/elvis-was-still-alive-on-june-18-1990-without-a-doubt-joe-esposito-on-geraldo/ and that’s how Elvis feels about this situation.” June 18, 1990 Gail Brewer-Giorgio Esposito he lied... he let the cat out of the bag,.. first they said elvis was in the bathroom and they called the ambulance ... now he said elvis was lying on the bed.. lol kzbin.info/www/bejne/pn-cn3hqbb1-eNk

sanderson alberto , Your a brave or unique person if your using your real name . Most if not all of your questions where answered by his only life long friend that goes back to Elvis's childhood . My life long friend , J.D.Sumner . I will answer a few of your pionts . Elvis had NO insurance , nor any need for life insurance and there is no proof he ever took out a policy . The photo you see is the worst picture taken . Elvis died and layed face down on the carpet for hours allowing his nose to be fixed in that position. People . It's been over 40 years since he died . Please leave the surviving Presley family to continue to mourn in peace . Are we going to wait another 10 or 20 years and hear these ridiculous theories about this great icon . If people say these thing's and call themselves Elvis fans , They are just showing us the lack of respect for Elvis . Additionally , Larry Geller was a friend of Elvis . He was NOT a mentor orhair dresser as he and he alone states . He says he was all of these things ,but no one else that knew Elvis would back him up. It's not just Larry . A number of those around Elvis have tried to build them selves up more then what they where .

sanderson alberto Elvis never drank, who said he was a heavy drinker. It was proven the man in the picture in the pool house was someone else, even interviews with him. The caretaker was identified as a real employee of Graceland. There is an interview with him and a radio producer that went to Graceland and found him. JD Sumner was a good Christian man and we can believe anything he says
