Elvis recorded the song on September 1, 1956, for his second album, Elvis, issued on October 19. It was also released on the EP, Elvis Vol. 1. It climbed to the #2 position on the Billboard Top 100 in the United States, a first for a title not coming from a single. "Love Me" also peaked at number seven on the R&B chart. "Love Me" was not released as a single to avoid confusion with "Love Me Tender". Elvis sang "Love Me" on The Ed Sullivan Show, in October of 1956, the 1968 Comeback Special and often performed it in concerts in the seventies, including his last tour in June 1977.

You have made my day sweetie....omg!!!! I literally have just gotten back from Tupelo Mississippi...wow! I went for the Trump Rally which was amazing...10000 people praying at once omg you could feel the spirit of God moving. People were dancing laughing singing it was so fun. The people in Tupelo Mississippi were awesome. Our hotel was beautiful clean and dam those women cooked a great breakfast at our hotel. Everyone was friendly and had a smile on their face. I went to the birthplace of Elvis. That was awesome!!!! I met a lady who went to his concert in Hawaii and his last concert. I was picking her brain. Lord I think she got tired of me asking her questions. She said his last concert you could tell he wasn't well but he did not disappoint. She said he poured his heart into every song. I had a blast in Tupelo. They built a park around his home where he was born and lived until they moved to Memphis. They have museum there and a chapel. They moved the church He first attended to the park. And their car is out front. I brought back so much stuff from the gift shop. Lol..If you ever go to Tupelo Mississippi go visit the birthplace of Elvis. This town was so lovely and the people so kind. Beautiful old home and old architecture. All the old stores have murals of Elvis painted on them it was a wonderful experience. God bless Jamal. TY for the Elvis ride.

Elvis was a true professional! The combination of the leather suit and lights were extremely uncomfortable. The story was they only had one suit, drying it out between performances. But, WOW WHAT A PERFORMANCE, in spite of it!

Just to give a little info from a life long fan. In 1973 Aloha from Hawaii was broadcast live at midnight around the world where 1 billion people watched. My parents let my siblings and I stay up to watch it, was a cancer benefit in which he bought the very first ticket. I was lucky to see him live 4 times. You can watch the whole concert on KZbin I've watched several times it is the single best concert ever.
