Excellent reaction. So fun to hear technical issues discussed. I remember one rehearsal he did for Vegas where he was wearing headphones and he commented that it was the first time he really heard himself. The early years the screaming was so loud the band members had to just follow his body movements because they couldn't hear what he was singing. Love Elvis! He was inimitable . Thanks!!

Elvis never had any musical education, and everything he did was a pure talent. He just felt music through his heart and body. He was and still is the KING 🤴 🥰💋💋💋

This is such a fantastic reaction. Not just to Elvis, which was great, but also very informative. I love your perspective as an artist, and all the details about singing without monitors, etc. Good stuff!

He never sang out of key.

true. he'd admittedly forget lyrics sometimes, would make jokes about it, but...never have I heard him hit one bad note or sing off key, his range was incredible as well as different genres he sang. I think he also played, self taught, at least 4 other instruments, too.

The guy is a vocal marvel. Even if you don't "like Elvis - are (there such people?) you should study him, especially his vocal capacity while live.

You should do reactions to his 50s stuff, and even early 60s. He sounds much different. There are some live tv performances on The Dorsey Brothers, The Milton Berle Show (Hound Dog is iconic), The Ed Sullivan Show, and The Frank Sinatra Show.

Great reaction. Stage monitors weren't common until 1972 apparently. He cut his performing teeth in the 50s where his shows would've been filled with screaming girls. He was used to not hearing himself but keep in mind that this was his first performance in front of a live audience in almost a decade due to all the movies he made through the 60s. Hence this becoming known as the "Comeback Special". Makes this performance even more spectacular. Great to hear from someone who knows about the technical side of performance x

I'm suggesting a song from 1972 Hampton Roads at kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6uvfHV9bMybfKc ; this is fun version & the little mistake that was made -- at the very start of the video Elvis called out “Please Release Me” but the band began playing “I Can’t Stop Loving You” - he didn’t stop them, he just eased right into the song; he then walked over to his glass of water, picked it up & playfully threw it at Glen @ piano; he was a bundle of energy w-a voice a little deeper & very powerful - a very enjoyable performance -- just make sure to listen to the very opening of the video -- many people miss it & don't understand what happened. Thx very much.

Just found you -- new subscriber & great reaction; pls take a look at "Jailhouse Rock" from this '68 special stand-up segment; if you liked this you're sure to like his '68 "Jailhouse Rock" version at kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmixZ4SXZalqgbs ; everyone suggests the clip from his 1957 movie version which is very good but the transition to '68 is great -- his voice is powerful & he's a bundle of energy. Elvis had a genetic condition called a-1 antitrypsin causing COPD/emphysema & he used an inhaler to help him breathe (i don't know when he began using them); but on this '68 special sit-down segment of "Heartbreak Hotel" he coughed a few times & at one point he said hold it i’m out of breath, wait a minute ; but then he just went on as if there was no problem. That was the amazing Elvis - no technological help needed, no smoke or laser lights, nothing mechanical needed -- just his voice, his power, the emotion from his soul & his gut w-amazing backup & musicians -- he was all real, not forced or "put on" & if flubbed a line he just smiled & went right on -- still mesmerizing us so many, many yrs. later.
