In 1966, Elvis changed the spelling to Aaron, so that it matched Aaron in the Bible. He knew his parents were not good at spelling, and he even told his Daddy that he did it, that is why it is spelled that way on his Headstone.

Or would you stay put and keep as close an eye on him as you possibly can & at least TRY to avoid it happening? Sorry, if ur a guy, apply that to a woman that you truly love

Elvis was afraid of flying -- after the crash that killed Buddy Holly his mother asked him not to fly and so he regularly drove, took a train or motor home. Finally he had to start flying for convenience sake, but it hadn't been his preference.

His manager Tom Parker was not a U.S citizen. He did not have a passport and the "Colonel" went everywhere with Elvis. Elvis wanted to go to Europe for most of his career but the Colonel wouldn't go for it. Tom Parker was from Holland I believe, came here on a ship while working and stayed.Tom Parker was here illegally. Parker also had huge gambling debts and that's why he wanted Elvis in Vegas whenever possible.Parker's cut from Elvis was 50% Elvis approved it,he said Parker was a good manager.

The "Colonel" in my opinion was a pariah. I think towards the end Elvis wanted to break free of him, but also felt extreme loyalty to him, and also thought of the "Col", as a sort of father figure.

I think you are 100% spot on. I have read many books about Elvis since over the years, one called 'Elvis What Really Happened' was by a former DA who seemed to have done a lot of research into EP. He even sent samples from the autopsy to be analysed under a false name in an effort to find the true cause of death. He said after interviewing most of EP's entourage only two people were decent humans who truly cared for EP, Linda Thompson and her brother Sam.

Absolutely! Elvis had too much time to himself and the wrong people alongside him. A good manager would have looked after the "man", not just the investment. The irony is that if the man was looked after, the investment would also have carried a lot further into the future. Parker and EP's entourage have a lot to answer for. There was not one person next to him who truly cared about him. I believe the one thing missing from his life was someone to love the man, not the purse.

Linda and Sam, who Elvis put on the payroll saw the writing on the wall a couple of years before Elvis died. They both knew there was nothing they could do to stop the inevitable tragic outcome and neither had any desire to watch it happen. Many of those closest to Elvis have said that had Linda still been with him, Elvis would not have died that day. She saved him a number of times from choking on his food and stuff and would never have left him alone for as long as he was left that day.

Thank you! Do you know of any reason why he preferred not to tour abroad? The rumour of his fear of flying was very strong back in the 70s, in Australia and everyone was upset about it. Maybe if he'd had the chance to tour Europe, an Australian tour may have followed. Why would we hear that and not that it was simply his preference to stay home? Could it have sth to do with his involvement as an agent? His involvement seems to have been his pride and passion, second only to the stage.
