I'm part of the Hong Kong fan club and been to their events in the past. I recall the release of the Lp by the club. The late HK President was a nice guy help me get my first JP cd box set.

Great video, David. I have the book also. The guy who wrote the book is selling a lot of records on ebay. I bought every TTWII albums and some other albums from him. All of these albums where also used in this book. I really like these asians albums, many with diverend track list or strange titels. Can't wait fir the other video's to come.

Yes, I find the Asian releases quite fascinating and the lack of info available about them makes them even more mysterious. Thanks for watching.

Hi David can't wait to see more of that book, that "Promised Land" Cassette is a bit of a laugh, dodgy tape, dodgy cover, dodgy text, and "I Got Stung" I wonder what happened to "Thinking About You" maybe they didn't like that track! "Honky Tonk Angel" opening the album is weird too as for side Two- who Knows, look forward to the next part.
@ElvisPresleyInJapan2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I couldn't resist getting that tape. Thinking About You is on there; they just messed up the titles on the J-card. And I forgot to mention the sound quality is okay but there are a few dropouts. Interesting little item though. Cheers.

Some very unusual Elvis finds, really enjoy seeing other country's ELVIS releases, even the bootlegs. I know you probably been asked this before but is JAPAN the only country to use the obi ? Thanks and have a great week.
@ElvisPresleyInJapan2 жыл бұрын
I think Japan is basically the only country to use obis. They use them on books too. However, the record company Ryko in the US used them for a while, and some of the US pressings of Elvis' 50th Anniversary LPs came with a gold obi. You have a great week too.

Hi Dave interesting video the book at the start looked a great read is it available commercially do you know ,av had some Korean and Taiwan vinyl down the years oddly enough on coloured vinyl a know the Japanese don’t seem to go for the coloured vinyl much a think a problay had bootlegs but they were very good ,the artwork on the sleeves was like annimation really interesting a don’t have them now unfortunately,brought the memories back with ya pressing of got o lot o livin to do ,a remember buying that when a was very young bout 14 there abouts,that single of blue Hawaii looked really interesting a superb item,lovely collection,take ,tony

Hi, Tony. I'll find out if the book is still available and let you know. I remember my first encounter with American bootlegs as well. I found about two dozen titles all in the same shop in Leeds. Sadly, I could only buy three. As you know, most of the good stuff on those old boots has now been released officially. I'll let you know about the book. Cheers, Tony.

Those "far east pressings" sure are exotic! 😀 Do you have any Russian vinyl pressings by Elvis? I think I've seen at least one around here some years ago. It must have been some Russian compilation. Today I saw some snowing, Jarkko / MyVinylBar
@ElvisPresleyInJapan2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jarkko. I don't have any Russian albums. The odd one shows up here occasionally. I've seen one from Bulgaria and a Polish "postcard single" but not much else from that part of the world. Snow, eh? Your winter must start sooner than ours, although it's getting colder here. Cheers.

A strange collection of various formats. Many countries issued odd compilations on obscure labels, unsure if I find them appealing due to their somewhat slapdash finish. I think bootleggers would state made in a country miles away to put off detection. Would love to know how they came to aquire tapes from RCA, print and make records. There are some great bootlegs. Love discographies, that book look good.
@ElvisPresleyInJapan2 жыл бұрын
I felt the same until I got a few for my collection. I keep an eye out for them now as they do occasionally turn up in Japan, even though it's like selling coals to Newcastle. I love discographies too. I'm surprised there aren't more on the market.
