Agree, Elvis could sing anything and make it special, it was once said, quote, Give Elvis the phone book to sing and he would sell a million.😀😀😀

When God created my friend Elvis he was just showing off. I can't tell you how much i love and miss him, there is not a day that goes by that i don't think of him and all the memories we made in 10 short years, his death knocked the wind out of me i have never been the same since, Elvis was the big brother i never had. He is also my guardian angel. Graceland is my go to place when it get's to hard to live w/o my friend i go there and walk around and remember Elvis and all the beautiful times we had together. He was the only person in my life that understood me and cared about my feelings and opinions. What it comes down to is we both needed a true friend and we were that for each other. Bless you from the one and only Memphis Tn. Awesome reaction.

Nice reaction! Elvis has always sung the blues exceptionally well. He grew up with it and it's so natural for him. There are some great early songs and he continued to love singing them throughput his career. The GOAT for sure.💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥

James, Elvis LOVED singing blues songs. I think it was second only to gospel music for him. Glen Hardin is KILLING it on the piano as is James Burton on the guitar and Elvis sured recognized it. I keep dreaming about an alternative universe where Elvis toured Europe and gave blues-centric performances. I'm guessing it would have kept him engaged and alive a lot longer.

Loved your reaction! The great B.B. King said he wished Elvis had recorded more blues songs. He said "We were the original Blues Brothers because that man knew more blues songs than most in the business -- and after some nights it felt like we sang every one of them." A couple for you to check out "A Mess of Blues" (1960) and "New Orleans" from the movie King Creole (1958).

This was at the rehearsal show before the show that was broadcasted around the world. You can tell as his hair was longer at this rehearsal show. After this show Elvis told his hair dresser that he hated his hair as it was too long esp for the broadcasted show. I only know that as Charlie Hodge, I was friends with, told me. This is one of my favorite n at the broadcasted show, that I was seated 3rd row center, he interacted with his audience like leaning over n kissing girls n taking a lei from one. He really loved his fans. Col. Parker didn't want him to interact with the girls as he said they would pull him off the stage. Well we knew Elvis he did what he wanted to do
@carolhayar3037 Жыл бұрын
Hi Susan: interesting that you say this about Elvis himself who said his hair was too long because i saw a video (stupid me i didn't take note of the link) where it was suggested to Elvis that he should cut his hair. I do wonder tho' if this whole haircut thing really had to do w-the fact that it was going worldwide & he needed to look neater. Also, his fingernails for the rehearsal show were longer & were cut for the live broadcast. And if he "hated" his hair, why wouldn't he have it cut for the rehearsal. The reason I mention it is because when you look at '72 Hampton Roads, Virginia & Greensboro, NC, & '74 Montgomery, AL, his hair was longer; i believe he personally preferred longer hair on himself. Producer-director Marty Pasetta gave an account of the building of the ramp that Parker didn't want but Elvis said yes to THANK GOODNESS! Thx.

Carol Hayar,I wasn't back stage to prove what actually happened but as I said I became friends with Charlie Hodge his confidant and best friend for years after Elvis died n he told me many stories esp things that happened back stage Being around Charlie I felt like I knew Elvis. I miss my friend Charlie he died in 2006 of lung cancer. Stay Happy

Thanks for another great one! Your descriptions are phenomenal! Info on THAT RAMP from stage to audience: Producer/director Marty Pasetta told Parker he wanted to build a ramp for Elvis to walk out onto & Parker said no. Pasetta explained that it would be 8 ft. wide & Elvis could stay in the middle or go to the left or to the right if he wanted to (Pasetta knew how important the audience was to Elvis). Parker said no. Fortunately, Pasetta was able to meet w-Elvis & he explained exactly what he told Parker. Fortunately again, Elvis overrode Parker & told Pasetta to build the ramp. Paseta told Elvis he wanted him to lose 25 lbs., which Elvis did. Elvis then hugged Pasetta & said you are one of the few people who has been totally honest w-me. Imagine how different that concert would have been if Elvis didn't have the option to get in close contact w-his audience. HE would have been just as spectacular, but without the ramp the concert would have had a very different feel. I do believe he made a little flub at 5:09 or 5:10.

This was James Taylor's song from the1970 Fire and Rain album. You' should listen to the original. No James Taylor song, no Elvis getting credit....and James still doing this song today on tours. Elvis was a great performer...of everyone's else's songs though....and his manager "Fake Colonel" Tom Parker was always trying to rip song writers off for publishing ownership rights and profit margins as a requirement for Elvis to record or perform any songs.
