It was amazing to watch that old clip. It’s exactly the way I first saw him on a blurry black & white TV in 1957. I was 12 years old and he was electrifying! We were a rural village of about 400 people in Atlantic Canada. My family were strict Baptist and had great music, but we kids 😂would go to the Pentecostal church for the gospel sounds. I recognized his sound as full of deeply spiritual music that rocked the place. His effect was thermonuclear and our parents knew a new era was emerging that they couldn’t control. I still, play all,his songs. Thank you.

Elvis did not just play Vegas in the 1970s. But every single show he did in Vegas during the 1970s was sold out... During his first return to live shows in 1969 he gave 57 shows in a months time and attracted a total audience of 101,500, a Las Vegas attendance record. For the first time a Vegas Headliner show turned a profit (usually the shows lost money but it was made up for in the Casinos) He toured the US continually with every single show totally sold out until his death in 77. In June of 1972 he sold out Madison Square Garden 4 shows in a row which was a record. He did his World Wide satellite TV concert in 1973 from Hawaii, eventually a billion people saw the show many countries overseas saw it live but it was not broadcast in the US until later that year. The concerts he performed at in the 1970s is well over a 1000 all sold out. He never toured outside the US in the 70s because his manager was an illegal alien and he was afraid of trying to get a VISA to leave the US. SO His manager, Tom Parker, stalled Elvis over and over for years.

Hi Rory, the medley Mystery Train/Tiger Man Elvis first performed in 1969. Also Elvis did Tiger Man in his 68 Comeback Special, but without Mystery Train. Mystery Train was first recorded by Elvis in 1955 on the Sun Studio Label. Original singer is Junior Parker, he recorded it in 1953 at Sun Studio. Tiger Man was no studio recording by Elvis. It was recorded by Rufus Thomas at Sun Studio in 1953.LOOKING FORWARD FOR PART 2 OF THE FANTASTIC SHOW!

Elvis knew how to control a crowd. Tom Jones admitted to studying Elvis's singing poses and then making his own. There was definitely a posing competition going on in the sixties between singers.

Freddy Mercury was a big Elvis fan and was influenced by Elvis. In fact all that came after were influenced by Elvis. Mercury became friends with Lisa Marie and she gifted him with one of Elvis scarves. Elvis was the first rock superstar, the first to wear bling and have an entourage ❤

Great to see another Elvis reaction; it's been a bit. Elvis was in Vegas for 2 seasons every year; his last show there was in 1976. From 1970 until his death, Elvis toured extensively across the U.S. with more than 700 concerts (all sold out) during those years. BTW, Freddie Mercury was a fan of Elvis.

I generally don't comment, but finally decided to. I love, love, love your Elvis reactions. Never missed one and I think you're great. "Elvis That's the Way It Is" and "Elvis on Tour" were taped concerts released as movies to satisfy the very end of Elvis' movie contracts. I believe your comment about him hating the cameras was true because he hated the movies. This is absolutely a terrific show and Elvis was in top form. Raised my spirits today. Thank you for all your work.

Could you please elaborate on your claim that Elvis recorded Tiger Man at Sun Sudio? There is no such recording in existence. And I have no idea what you meant by "2 years or before he went in?" Your grammar is rather poor, so it's hard to understand what you mean.

Enjoy watching your reactions as you watch the performance . At this point of his career, and going forward, Elvis did short, and improvised versions of his earlier “50’s” classics. You mentioned that you liked the “60’s” Elvis’s, but I think you probably meant the “50’s”. Most of his 1960’s , were tied up in the movies. It wasn’t until 1968 that he busted out with the famous “68 Comeback Special”. Thanks for sharing!

I'm sorry, Idk your name. We've commented a few times on Seph's channel. I've been on the train about 2 years now. Anyways, on a song he reacted to 6 days ago, an MJ fan asked him if Elvis was his favorite artist. He said he didn't really care for Elvis and didn't want to know everything about Elvis but he does MJ. So I asked him about it and he deleted my comment and the MJ fan comment and his response to her also, I guess so no one else could see either one. He has also banned me. I truly believe that he is a phony and should not get subs on the name of our Elvis. Barbara

@@Barbara-lb5yt I hear you and read you, but I don't think you can put on a continual emotional act, involving tears etc. like Seph does, and recently say he is the greatest singer he has ever heard and as he states no money is being made out of this so nothing to be gained.. I have not read the context of the original comment, but find it strange as he knows the comments are for open inspection. Could you have possibly misinterpreted a remark full of irony as everyone here knows he listens to Elvis most days and maintains a list. What did you say to get banned ?

@@gorse9030 Seph says he gains no money, but how do we know that's true. I copied and saved his comment bc I figured he would delete it. After reading them, I questioned him about what he said and if he felt that way, then why does he bother going thru everything EP if he does care to know and said he doesn't care for him. I didn't curse him out or say anything ugly or no within YT guidelines. YT would not have deleted it. I can try and send his original comment that I copied, but it has large kinsley's and emojis and would take up a lot of space, but I will give it a try. I don't think someone should benefit off of Elvis's name if they are a phony in order to gain subs.

When I copy and paste it, it does not show the emojis. But here is the whole coversation: @katie4aday511 5 days ago so is Elvis your favourite artist? 4 Reply · 7 replies @SephPlays 5 days ago (edited) This is a very hard question! I listen to Elvis daily in my own time, i listen to Michael Jackson daily in my own time too. The only reason i do more reactions to Elvis then any other singer is because of his expansive catalog of songs "he has like 1000 records" I love MJ and hes the only celebrity i have ever Cared about. I love Elvis but i wouldn't say i care for him? But even after all that.. I cant choose between them. They are both on the same level for me on my love scale. Choosing between them would be like me choosing between water and air. I NEED them both in my life. BUT saying that..... If i take my Feelings out of the equation, and just answer MJ vs Elvis..... Im gonna say MJ... But thats me being COLD AF!!! ... Honestly answering this was probably the hardest thing I've had to do on this channel so far And p.s this took me 3 hours to write... Show less 2 Reply @katie4aday511 4 days ago @SephPlays seems an internet glitch has swallowed my answer. In case u see two answers this is why. I think i have to type it up all over again. Damn. here is what i said: Reason i asked is bc i yesterday left the MJ bubble for a moment to see if you in general react with the same enthusiasm to every artist. And it was not really easy for me to tell if yes or no. It was not my intention to make u to choose or make u feel uncomfortable. It is perfectly ok to like many artists. Just for me the stretch from Linkin park to MJ or Elvis is a far one and i saw all lifts your spirtis and exite you and i was trying to put this together in my head and understand. A few years back there was a debate thrown if the world is still "allowed" to listen to MJ. And some of these intellectuals answered: of course we can divide art and artist and still enjoy the art. Like if you would enjoy a painting but yet maybe the artist may have done things that were not ok. But for me and i think many MJ fans would agree. It doesn't work that way. Because MJs music reflects his personality. His music is him. And once you fall in love with his personality and him as a human you cannot divide the two. If he was an awful human as media tries to say that would kill his art you know. I couldn't listen to his music anymore. So this division debate for me personally doesn't work and is absolute nonsense. This may work if the artist died 200 yrs ago and lived long before our times. But with MJ we grew up with him. Witnessed his life and it doesn't work. And it makes you protective and angry once u are at that point that you care for him. So thank you that you took the time to answer. Means a lot to me. Show less 1 Reply @SephPlays 4 days ago I'm the most honest reactor you will find on KZbin, If i dont like a singer or song you will see it in my face and i will tell you straight up. You wouldnt believe the amount of Depeche Mode, Linkin Park, Elvis and even MJ songs that i have said sucks. No singer nor group is "Perfect" and they all have a few terrible songs to their names. Most notable songs that i said i didnt like was: "The girl is mine" MJ. "Somebody" by DM. "Clean Up Your own backyard" by Elvis. All of these had prettttyyyy bad comments directed at me "A couple i even had to remove because of the death threats" I have about 1000 song reactions here on the channel. I only liked about 400 songs out of them roughly? And i think only about 100 songs out of them really forced an amazing reaction out of me. I have properly cried in 1 video and a couple more have made me tear up. But seeing as i'm being honest, I can tell you a few things about the other groups and singers i have heard here on the channel:: I personally Think Dimash is the best vocalist on the planet! BUT doesn't have the songs to back it up. Depeche Mode have amazing Tunes/backgroundmusic so i listen to them all the time "Certainly not the best vocals though" Linkin Park's Chester bennington is one of the best screamers "but i kinda lost interest after their 3rd album" duran duran has some of the most catchy songs of all time "But wacky lyrics" petshop boys also have a couplleee of very very catchy songs "but i didnt like their later songs much" The only 3 artist's that i bother with is Elvis, Mj and depeche mode. So much so that i started at the beginning for all of them. But out of them MJ is the one that i have really went all in with "I watch all the interviews and such" really jumping into his life. I do this because i want to find out everything about him, i dont feel the need to find out everything about Elvis or depeche mode. So if you need to know if i'm genuine i think that should answer your question. Show less 2 Reply @katie4aday511 4 days ago @SephPlays wow thats exactly what i was trying to find out and i hope if u are not into something from MJ ppl will treat u as kind as MJ would. Taste in music is not something to go threathen someone over. Thats really amazing to know that it is only MJ intriguing enough to make u want to learn all. 1 Reply @katie4aday511 4 days ago (edited) @SephPlays btw i also dont like The girl is mine and find a few songs weak. Also sometimes a song i didnt like for some time i grow to love later in life or just like u after i saw the short film for it or the stage performance...my preference of songs of his catalogue changes all the time. 1 Reply @SephPlays 4 days ago @katie4aday511 Well theres also the fact that i feel guilty for not liking him for 34 years of my life this is my way of saying sorry. So its half and half really, genuinely curious about him and guilt 1 Reply @SephPlays 4 days ago @katie4aday511 Whats the worst song for you from MJ? Reply
