If you listen carefully, you can hear some "spanish" way to say english words... so we know that it isn't Elvis... :-) And just to comment what you now said... If Elvis recorded this at home, he would have done so on a tape recorder... This is a acetate (or at least it is made to sound like that) record... If Elvis fooled around singing these songs... why take the cost and time to play them from a tape to an acetate record? I guess that would be about 0 % chance for this... :-D Just to inform you why we know this isn't Elvis... :-)

I heard this acetate many years ago (I was born in the mid 50's and was weaned on early Presley). This is undoubtedly a young Presley. Presley wasn't a bad picker on his Martin D-18 and D-28. He did loads of radio demos in the southern States that were never put down on vinyl but fortunately acetates exist of these. Probably his best two acetates are Fool, Fool, Fool (written by Ahmet Ertegun in 1952 for The Clovers) and Hearts of Stone (both about '54 / '55). Look for these on KZbin. AWESOME! - but get the ones on acetates NOT the later renditions. On Fool, Fool, Fool put in brackets after the song title Radio Station Demo and ENJOY.

It is the song YOUNG LOVE. It was written in 1956 and covered by many artists including a Donny Osmond cover, many people mistakenly assume that to be the original. However, the original was recorded and released by Ric Cartey in 1956. I have been an avid fan and daily listener of Elvis' music for 30+ years now and for the past 25 of those I have been taking an interest in examining and investigating elvis material and I stick to my opinion. 1. It fits the tone and pitch of voice PERFECTLY when compared to the Home recordings from 1958 and the bad nauheim tapes of 1959 2. Elvis was known to record songs he liked in the comfort of his home and this is one that he would most definitely have appreciated No matter what mister know-it-all "NorwayElvis" might claim in his unfundamented reply posts, I will stick to my opinion until any official statement is made, and proof delivered, by (formerly) Elvis Presley Enterprises or affiliates. As a last note: having an opinion is completely legitimate, however arrogantly forcing your opinion as truth on people and flooding a discussion like you have done here is not. Long Live The King

this is ELVIS, recorded on a reel to reel machine during the later part of 1959 or very early 1960 in his residence at Bad Nauheim in germany in the closing days of his national service......he worked hard during this period ( often with Charlie Hodge or Red West ) to broaden his range and move toward a more rounded mature vocalist in order to be able to re enter the entertainment world after his demob from the army in Mar 1960

In my opinion , that IS Elvis. I have only been fooled once as a kid. Always awesome to hear ANY new songs by Elvis. I prefer his singing from the late 60's -on. His voice got a little deeper & richer. You listen to the Sun records & early RCA & he has the same style but sounds like 2 different people. From 68-77 His voice was unbelievable!! He looked the best from 67-73. When He 1st started doing shows for the International Hotel , wearing black & some of the early white jump-suits , the man looked like a god , lol.

Mr. Phil Silverman is completely correct. I've heard both of these old songs before. They are off of old,old reel to reel tapes, most likely recorded at home, probably 1954 or 55. The 2'nd song is '' He's Got You '' I've been listening to his voice intently since 1956. I can still occasionally be fooled, but not on these two songs. Good ear Phil. !!

This Elvis, if any one has visited Graceland and had the Elvis week experience you will know this was recorded on the old reeled tape machines where the speakers were somewhat distorted. However the sound quality is much better. Elvis was know for recording his remakes of others songs of which most have never been released.This is Elvis, trust me I know what I'm talking about.

2nd song is "He's Got You" also recorded by "the other Elvis" - Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer, Elvis Costello on "Almost Blue" - 1981 - It's not on the vinyl album itself, but it was later added as a CD bonus track. Costello gives a dramatic, heart-rending interpretation as opposed to The King's casual, fooling around with this great tune.

I have to agree with 'Charlotte C', it so fits the period and the tonality of his voice and exactly what he would do, if he was relaxing at home with his acoustic guitar. The songs are Tab Hunter's 'Young Love' from 1957 and Patsy Cline's 'She's Got You' from 1961-62. Elvis was in Bad Nauheim, Germany for 18 months from 1958, which could have gone to 1960 - 61.
