I think this was one of two shows that day . My older cousin took us to see him perform . My grandma lived on Makahiki rd. on the Ewa side of Honolulu Stadium . We were very close to the stage as well . I was just eight years old , but I remember at one point , he left the stage and stepped onto the grass with his mike !

This is significant footage! This very well may be the only footage of Elvis live with bassist Bill Black playing an electric fender bass. I would assume he’s playing an electric bass because this is an outside venue and he needed the added amplification.

As of April 24, 2020, there were 62 dislikes; and in my opinion, that’s just nuts. This is great footage, with audio from the 1961 concert excellently matched. We get to see Elvis at his most dynamic. … in colour, too! It’s too bad the original audio wasn’t available but this is a real gem!! Thanks to the person who did this work and getting it on KZbin.

@@jameskaft5233 It’s available on KZbin, under Elvis’ Pearl Harbour concert, or Elvis’ 1961 Hawaii concert. Elvis sings 15 songs. This is the last concert he gave before he went into semi-retirement. I first heard a bit of this in 1974, and later tracked down the album (bootleg). I think the best version of I Got a woman live, is from a 1956 concert by Elvis, also on KZbin. (The person gathers Elvis’ concerts from the year and edits them together).
