I really enjoy the chemistry between him and Ann Margret in this film, their passionate relationship is captivating. Elvis appeared in 31 feature films, and I believe he was quite a talented actor. Some of my favorite movies include Wild in the Country, Flaming Star, King Creole, Love Me Tender, and Jailhouse Rock❤

When he made this movie I wonder if he imagined himself being a Las Vegas headliner years later

Maybe, maybe not. He tried Las Vegas the week of April 23, 1956. It was stupid idea of his manager Colonel Tom Parker. Presley bombed in front of a middled aged audience as part of a show with Shecky Greene comedian and Freddy Martin, big band leader. Most middle aged people hated Elvis, what the hell was Parker thinking? [He was a phony idiot anyway]. So I suspect he had no ambitions to ever play Vegas again...but later changed his mind after being sick of the mostly corny movies he was in, he went live again in 1969 after his 1968 TV special proved to him he could do it and had an audience for it now.

@@thomastimlin1724 Las Vegas considered him a hillbilly in his early days because the crowd wasn't teenagers. Then after he got older and put on the jumpsuits with all the sparkly bling, the teens had grown up and he had his crowd. I got to see Elvis twice in the 70's. Lucky me.

"Viva Las Vegas" (1964) is another fun movie to watch. Elvis had such great chemistry with Ann-Margret. I enjoy a lot of Elvis Presley's movies. They may have been a bit corny but the songs are great.

interesting and Elvis moved so well, because they didn't tell him the steps he had to do it was all spontaneous. but if you have to discover Elvis's talent you don't have to watch his films but you have to see him and listen to him while he was on stage. 68 for the return to innovation, 70 for the energetic choreography, Aloha of 73 for the power of the voice. video of the audience of August 75 for an Elvis fed up with Las Vegas, sick but a complete professional, nice and always sexy. ❤thanks

This movie was actually 60 years ago. Elvis' talent was multi-level. Terrific singer, terrific actor, terrific entertainer. Not nearly appreciated in his lifetime. Loved this movie. Thanks for the memories.

When this movie was released. I was 14. It was a big deal. Him and Ann Margaret.. Wow! Elvis was 29 years old. He was very handsome. The movie theater was full, and I felt like screaming , but, of course, I didn't.

This is not a representation of Elvis in Vegas...This is from the movie Viva Las Vegas, from 1964, Elvis's real comeback to Vegas , and made him THE attraction of Vegas, started in 1969. You already did "Bridge over troubled water " That was more Vegas Elvis from 1970..I really prefer Elvis from 1967 till 1974...But there were so many highlights, before and after. His whole career, was just legendary. That why is still relevant today...And..I.M.O will get even more relevant...because nowadays " entertainers" are just puppets and need auto-tune to perform a decent show... He started it all, and he will stay.. till the end.

Viva Las Vegas is the best of Elvis' formula pictures-good music, decent direction and sizzling chemistry with Ann-Margret. However King Creole from 1958 is his best overall film. It has a top flight director in Michael Curtiz (he directed Casablanca among many, many other films.), a solidly dramatic story and script plus the best cast of any of his films including Oscar winners Walter Matthau and Dean Jagger as well as Oscar nominee Carolyn Jones along with Paul Stewart, Vic Morrow and Dolores Hart.

A few days ago I saw a little documentary about a special show in Disneyland Paris. A German KZbinr was invited to watch the show and was also allowed to see what's going on behind the scene (technical stuff). The show wasn't performed in a concert hall, but in the streets of Disneyland. They used drones and hidden projectors to light both the buildings and the sky. This must be an incredible experience.🎆🎇 I wonder if Las Vegas does this kind of shows, too.

This is, unfortunately, a representation of Elvis after he lost his edge,, and no longer sang the southern funk, blues, soul, gospel, honkytonk fusion that made him so electrifying. here he is just good, which for Elvis is not good enough. He got his soul back in the late 60's but then lost it again to drugs and fame. He was transformational but he settled for fame.
