This song was in "G.I. Blues" from 1960. I just watched this with my husband the other day. Elvis is singing part of the song in German. "Wooden Heart" is based on a German folk song. Elvis was in a lot of movies with great songs & most of them are family friendly.

😂 Who doesn't know that? Wooden Heart/Muss I Denn....was in the charts in the Netherlands for a year & hit #1 twice in 1960&1977... Obvious what kind of music they like/love...Kinda ashamed I was born there.....give me the raw electrifying Elvis‼️

I love this scene and this song. Elvis was so charming. Also it reminds me on my early childhood in Austria and Germany. I saw a lot of these old fashioned puppet theaters in the 90s. Your reaction was really sweet too ❤

RCA made it known they would not release this song as a single. Record companies scrambled as they saw a hit. A pretty much unknown American singer learned the lyrics in a couple hours and cut it. Became a number 1 on American charts. RCA cheated E out of another gold record. It was number one in UK, though never released as a single.
