Whether you want to be or not, you have become a member of the Elvis fans!❤ There's no going back, but that's a good thing. Welcome to the Elvis experience! You will find that music you normally wouldn't like or listen to, you will like it because of the soulful twist that Elvis puts on it to make it his own. He pulls you into his music and you can't help but be mesmerized by him. Enjoy the ride my friend, and please pass on your views, pauses and all, to those willing to listen. Giving your perspective of Elvis is so interesting to someone of my generation, I'm 56 years old, and still learning from your generation. You've been exposed to so much in the current music world. Your opinion matters just as much as anyone else's. I'm grateful for your perspective on Elvis, someone who has been gone 47 years and still making the charts today. Thank you so much.

Love your comment twanidawson. This young man is an “acquired taste” and I (similar to your post) am a 100% Twan at 2am fan. I am near 77 so do not get some of the new (what we called “Jive”) but found Twan is one smart and thoughtful young man. He probably would not like it but I just would love to give him a huge hug 😮 I just hope he is happy in life and that he will have great success in his personal life and in his KZbin world. Again, great comment T … Dawson. God Bless buddy🙏

I am so happy that you found Elvis and really appreciate his music. He was SPECIAL with a powerful voice with great looks and you can get hooked on him. I have been watching him since the late 50's. I went to three of his concerts, the first at the Houston Astrodome in 1970. He put on a great show. The best next thing to him now is an ETA - ELVIS Tribute Artist, Cody Ray Slaughter. He even favors him some but ElVIS was the best ever. A lot of people in Hollywood were jealous of him back in the day.

Hi Twano! I loved, loved, loved your reaction. I’m 69 years old and a white female. As a teenager I was big into Motown, a Detroit studio that recorded the likes of, Aretha Franklin, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder to name a few. During this period of my life, Elvis Presley was (we know now) so greatly suppressed by his manager, Tom Parker that he appeared to the public as a bit of a cardboard figure, albeit a beautiful one. Despite that I always did love Elvis because well, he was Elvis. In my life, if the internet is good for only one thing, it would be that it has introduced me to an Elvis that I previously had no way of knowing existed….a rare and true artist. Love your reaction Twano❤️

You seem like a genuine young man who wants and does the right things in life, so I wish you all the best in everything you do. As for Elvis, he was the master storyteller, he could inject heart and emotions into the lyrics sprinkle a little stardust, and create a sound that stirs feelings in your body and soul.

The secret behind the comfort and flexibility of Elvis' jumpsuits was the fabric was the same as figure skater outfits. It's called gabardine wool. He would wear shirts and pants on stage and would frequently rip the seat of the pants. That happened much less often with the suits.

I want to say something about what you said at the start , that some people might not like you, may not like you, don't like you etc etc .. You are a really good person, it always shows when someone's smile reaches their eyes. Ignore any personally insulting comments, it's their problem if they want to be nasty,, not yours. If there are any racial comments .. those people judging, are their own bigoted selves, not you. Remember, when you listen to Elvis, he was kind, caring, he didn't see colour, didn''t judge anyone because nobody's perfect. I love your reactions and enthusiasm. Thank you for playing Elvis xx

I have been watching videos about Elvis, on KZbin, for years and there are endless comments of appreciation for things he did for individuals still to this day! People who were treated amazingly by him... often involving buying poor people cars, paying their mortgage off, giving someone a state of the art wheelchair, ...on and on. He said he loved to give people "happies". Yes...you are spot on when you say there should be more people like him in the world! ❤
@garyfreeman57196 ай бұрын
Another thing you might want to look into is. Elvis was in complete control of not only that stage . But the 30 people behind him . All those people behind him are playing off of his movements, his body movements, his hand movements, etc. They had to pay close attention to him because he would change things up on them each show. He does not get enough credit for being a producer and a director , composer . Sure, his record label and the colonel tried to bring in producers, but they were only there in name only. Trust me, Elvis was in control of everything up on that stage and his band.

I will recommend a song from Elvis that shows just how much he loved to sing. He sang "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright." He seemed to want to sing that one song and never stop. He was clearly enjoying himself. Elvis was born to sing.

@@MMVDupont I'm glad I thought to mention that song. I once commented here on KZbin that I feel certain that Elvis isn't hiding somewhere (as some think) under an alias. Elvis loved to sing so much that the music would never have stopped. I'm glad to know how much pleasure Elvis got from singing. I hope it was at least as great as the delight experienced by his fans.
@MMVDupont7 ай бұрын
@@sandramoore Agreed, singing (and music generally) seems to have been like breathing for him! I wish somehow I could have seen him perform in his own era, and live, but I wasn't even born until several years after he died. I really enjoy hearing stories from people who got to see him perform and get to know his music in "real time". Although, what an amazing thing it is, for us new / late-coming fans, to have all these recordings and videos at our fingertips, and to get to see his range and depth with music so readily!

I love that old stuff.. my Pop-Pop raised me on OLD country.. I love me some country music.. I'm a child of the 80's love my hair bands.. was clubbing in the 90's. love some old school hip hop. And Aerosmith is my all time fav rock band of the 70's.... I had to teach myself that music because my parents (even though they were in their early 30's) were still stuck in the 50's.. lol. Beautiful reaction. As always. 💕 If you want to get a better understanding of WHY Elvis thought so differently during racially charged times, you will love the interview done by Baz Luhrman with Elvis' Black childhood friend Sam Bell. It's a beautiful interview that explains how Elvis grew up poor in a Black neighborhood and lived in harmony (even though it was in Mississippi..... in the 1940s!!).
