Some of the stuff is reaching..some is on spot…MJ tended to combine his look with some of the outfits that Elvis wore in movies. Fringes were what was in style back then…Elvis liked dragons, tigers etc…because he was a black belt. Bill Belew designed over 70 jumpsuits for Elvis. He also designed clothes for the Osmonds & the Jacksons. First, all artists influence each other. Elvis was influenced by the Black R&R artists before him. Elvis was all about fashion. He was inspired by many. His "jump-suits" were his idea and came from his idea of a karate suit. He was very into karate and even held a black-belt. When he decided to get back into concerts in the late 60's he wanted something that would be comfortable for his on-stage performances and movements. Once he wore them, many groups and artists copied it. Look mainly at the early to mid-70's.
