Some of the stuff is reaching..some is on spot…MJ tended to combine his look with some of the outfits that Elvis wore in movies. Fringes were what was in style back then…Elvis liked dragons, tigers etc…because he was a black belt. Bill Belew designed over 70 jumpsuits for Elvis. He also designed clothes for the Osmonds & the Jacksons. MJ also combined his dance movements with pantomime movements…Elvis was random and moved to the music & later did karate movements in his performances. I believe MJ was a big fan of Elvis & copied him in many ways…marrying Lisa was a big part of that.

If you really look. You will see Michael Jackson copied several things from Elvis. It was no surprise. Michael married his daughter.

“Gang” back then was just a tight group of friends. Kinda like a “posse” is today.

READ: You’re over simplifying the way music/other art forms work. Nearly everyone takes something from those who came before, as the great BB King said. Elvis was very honest about having been inspired by early R&B, Country, Gospel, but added a ton of stuff himself. Michael Jackson incorporated James Brown, Smoky Robinson, Elvis, and the robotic moves of Shields and Yarnell to form his stage persona. SRV was inspired by Hendrix and Albert King, and was very open about that. Very few were truly original, and there’s a big difference between outright copying/cloning someone, and borrowing some from their gig bag and adding your own.

I think back in the 1950s and 60s. Rock and roll was poor people music. And poor folks are not conservatives. The people that were pissed were rich conservative whites. Elvis was responsible for a culture change in the US. And it continued into 60s and 70s. And I believe motown was responsible for helping along the civil rights movement. Music truly has shaped the western world.

It's called subliminal messaging, Elvis was the King, MJ was the Prince and it's about setting MJ up to take over as the next Superstar!

5:11" there's no way... This would break anyone's heart" ... Elvis had many music heroes that inspired him and is the greatest natural performer to date... Michael was the g.o.a.t at what he did... but it is obvious he e was inspired by james brown Diana Ross .also movie star dancers gene kelly... fred Astaire.... he had all Elvis's pictures and movies that he could study to be inspired by ..he put it all together and captured the entire Worlds Attention...in my opinion thats what Michael did ... nothing wrong with it ... because its what all artists have always done...build on what came before and make better ...nice reaction 👍👍✝️

Michael considered Elvis a major musical influence, Elvis was a source of inspiration, says Michael,,, Michael wanted to emulate the same level of showmanship in other words, he adored Elvis as we all do and we all adore Michael

First, all artists influence each other. Elvis was influenced by the Black R&R artists before him. Also, Bill Belew was a costume designer for both Elvis and the Jackson 5. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Belew And the moon walk was from the 1930s. Art is just like that. It’s fluid and everyone influences everyone

I hate to say it man your just in denial Michael was the black Elvis. None of what your seeing is a reach. And the fact he copied Elvis clothing doesn't mean Michael wasn't his own individual self. His music is fabulous

Michael copied everything Elvis. But that don't mean it's not Michael. Elvis and Michael hung out many times together so naturally Michael was huge fan of Elvis. Hell he married his daughter

Elvis was a twin. His brother Jessie (i thimk) died at birth. I've been to Graceland and the graves. If I could post pics in the comments, I would post pics. FYI, he's not alive. He died in 78.

Elvis was all about fashion. He was inspired by many. His "jump-suits" were his idea and came from his idea of a karate suit. He was very into karate and even held a black-belt. When he decided to get back into concerts in the late 60's he wanted something that would be comfortable for his on-stage performances and movements. Once he wore them, many groups and artists copied it. Look mainly at the early to mid-70's.
