I'm a Vietnam vet that read the story about Ann Margret holding a book signing at some big store in New York. There were rules you buy the book and wait in line to have her sign it but you could not ask her any questions. She made some trips to Vietnam with Bob Hope. A G.I. who had his picture taken with her in Vietnam was waiting in line to have her sign his book and hopefully the picture he had taken with him in Vietnam. When he reached her and presented his book and picture and asked if she would autograph both. He was immediately told he could not ask her anything. Ann Margert saw the picture and told everyone to leave him alone. She said , This is one of my special gentlemen and got up and came out from around her table and hugged him and gave him a kiss. She signed both the book and picture and he had more pictures taken at her book signing.

Knowing that he worked very hard to inspire n heartfilled enjoyment to all his fans so much that he kept pushing himself to fulfill their carving of great music. I never felt his presence there till the time i went on the lisa marie plane. The guide ask that no one touch anything. So we got to the tail i wanted to see if that was a water bed or what so i barely touched his bed. She saw me but didn't say nothing bless her little heart. But as i entered the plane i did indeed feel his presence he loved his daughter so much.

@@Seanjrambow I'll admit, some of the stuff was cheesy, but he didn't write 95 % of it either, but that's what happens when you're part of the corporate machine. He did the same thing most of the artists today do, he did what he had to do to make the money. He was a performer, and at that he excelled like no one before him and very few others since. Elvis was loyal to a fault, and you're right the colonel exploited that (being the thieving shady bastard he was) and milked it for all he could. Can you imagine the levels Elvis would have reached and how things may have turned differently, if the colonel allowed him to perform world wide?? I guess it'll be what if for ever eh?

It is a misnomer to call Elvis Presley the king of rock and roll. He definitely was not! Buddy Holly (Charles Hardin Holley) was! He was a genius, Elvis was not. Holly could play the guitar very well, Presley could not. Holly wrote most of his hit songs and a lot more, Presley did not. Holly arranged the music and instruments for songs, Presley did not. Holly could conduct orchestras as he did with his musical arrangements later in his short career, Presley did not. Holly was highly skilled at multiple facets of Presley was not. Norman Petty was Buddy Holly's producer on his records. Even though Petty was credited with co-writing some of Holly songs, in fact Petty did not. It was by contract so he could collect more money. The only thing Presley had in common with Holly was singing/performing. Holly had more rock and roll chart breaking songs in 3 years than Presley did in the same amount of time, not even close. Presley never won a Grammy award for rock and roll nor pop. He won a Grammy award times in the gospel music, Holly didn't have a chance because the Grammy awards were created over 3 months unfortunately after Buddy's death. Otherwise it was perceived that he would have won multiple times. Holly was genuine inside and out, Presley was not. These are all facts. 'The Day The Music Died' was a song dedicated to the true King of Rock and Roll , the one and only the Great Buddy Holly! Rest in Peace Buddy, you are truly the greatest in 'Rock and Roll' and visionary in music.

@PROFESSOR-I.C.2 жыл бұрын
@@shyba2011 Sorry to bust your bubble but all of the facts point to Buddy Holly who accomplished more in 3 years than Elvis did in his lifetime. The only thing Elvis did that Buddy Holly didn't was to be a bad actor in bad movies in which Elvis admitted he didn't like to act and was not a good actor. The Colonel pressed him into it, to promote and market Presley and his songs=more $. Elvis could only sing but Buddy could do it all = genius! (King of/Mr) Rock and Roll!
