Hi another great video Sean, l would love to find that box set! When it was released there was NO advertising for the Box LPs. They were just pushing the CD box set. Thanks Ellie, it's crazy when you think about how the record industry attempted to manipulate the demise of vinyl for no good reason other than boosting profits, with no regard at all for what the consumer actually wanted. I see contemporary parallels with electric cars tbh. I'm sure you'll be able to find a copy eventually 🤞🏻

Another great showcasing. I bought the cd set the week it was released, but never even considered the vinyl, as I was strictly a cd collector at the time. Fast forward a couple of decades and I went down the vinyl rabbit hole and would love to stumble across that set! ⚡️

A great Set. I bought the CD-Set & the Castle Music Vinyl-Set when they first came out (the Vinyl Set is still sealed in my Collection 😉) but i opened and playing/listening the CD Set permanently back in those days 😁 Thank you Sean!

Brilliant video as always Sean! I too have the deluxe set on cd and vinyl. I had the cd set for a couple years but finally scored the vinyl set last year. A beautiful set! What’s funny is on my first and only visit to Graceland back in 2001, I saw the vinyl set, but as you noted, vinyl wasn’t that popular and I didn’t own a turntable, so I passed! Congrats on getting yours for your collection! 🎉🎉

Lucky to have picked it up back in the day HMV top of my head £49.99 if I remember right - Am sure there was a coloured vinyl edition too may be wrong - Great box set good heavy vinyl too.

Sean I loved this release when it came out......managed to get both at the time........never played the vinyl yet.....nice casing and unusual ....I bought the Peace In the Valley boxset vinyl around the same time if I remember correctly. I got the movie poster from the local cinema for the SE of TTWIS.....framed professionally and looks the business...an album I reviist all the time.......it's brilliant...did you mean 30th Anniversary ?

Hi Sean, I bought the CD version of the Special Edition when it came out and wasn't bothered about a different concert being released instead of the one featured in the original album, there were plenty of tracks I hadn't heard before in the rehearsal selection so it went into my collection. I'm not sure why the concert was split up on the record maybe there were in a rush to produce this set and put it out, but I'm sure they could've placed the full concert over two sides of a record. I'm already wondering how much more new material can be released from this concert and rehearsal footage in the next few years. I really liked your deep dive into this Special Edition.

@@sincerelyelvispresley Hi Sean, With developments in sound and vision there is really no excuse not to upgrade the picture and sound quality to a 4 K or 5K resolution or whatever the number becomes!!. I don't think that the Frank Sinatra Welcome Home Elvis television programme can be saved because the original source material is so washed out in the first place, which is a shame I would like to see if Peter Jackson could work on it but I doubt that he could even restore that right now.

The quality of the photos on your 'Showroom Internationale' LP look really nice Sean. Strange that 'Friday Music' went to the trouble of putting single LP's into gatefolds and then they' were so inconsistent with the artwork, unlike the Castle Music 5 LP set which has to be one of the best put together packages available. I wonder if they could have combined some of the studio recordings with the rehearsals, to then keep the live concert completely separate on one or two LP's. When RCA combined the Dallas concert with studio tracks on their 25th Silver Anniversary Box Set, (Elvis Aron Presley) they always sounded a little out of place.

Yes, the Friday Music approach is a bit of a puzzler Steve, as you say, they go to the trouble of producing nice gatefold sleeves, and on top of that include nicely coloured vinyl, and then let themselves down with some of the gatefold content. I'm wondering if they're even going to do any more Elvis titles, as it's been a while now since the last one. I think the space restrictions of vinyl probably do go a long way to explain some of the incongruous sequencing we get on some releases

Thanks Juan, and thanks for the recommendation. I've had my eye on that Millbranch release, as I'd heard good things about it. Somewhat predictability I'd lean towards the Magenta vinyl. From what I've seen, if I was them I wouldn't have put the tracklist on the cover, I think it makes it look necessarily cluttered
