One of my biggest regrets in life is not getting into Lemmy and Motörhead sooner...I was 19 and working at Asda (now owned by Walmart) a pretty blonde girl in a denim jacket went into work before me,I saw she had a massive Snaggletooth Patch on the back..being a bit of a pretentious uptight twat I thought " oh dear she must be a bit slow..that heavy noise" a year later I realised Motőrhead were one of the best Rock Bands in Eternity and that I probably had missed "The One" Lemmy laughs at me from Beyond the grave...on the plus side I saw Motörhead 4 times at the Brixton Academy and saw the light...RIP Lemmy Motörhead for Life ❤

@@ebbanjenkins5960 The first time I saw Motorhead was 1981 in San Francisco they guitar player for a band called poison idea turn me onto them in 1978 I wanted to cover ace of spades on the wild dogs second album Man's Best Friend but the other band mates didn't like Motörhead and refused to do it so I went home wrote a song almost identical to Ace of spades and brought it to the group who loved it they had never actually heard motorhead I win I told let me that story I wish I would have gotten it on video he laughed his ass off and said I hate that fucking song I have to play it every night and when I went upstairs to the Soundcheck he had to be his base knowing I was a bass player singer and the drum tech had played in the band with Kurt James and new my music I started playing the intro to ace of spades let me grabbed the neck and said stop stop anything but that song so I played one off Dr. Mastermind and the Drummer drum tech started playing along and let me get a big smile that first time 1999 was my best day I've had in music ever besides Motörhead I'm a huge Beatles fan and so is he and a big Jimi Hendrix fan and I knew he had known jimi it was just a precious day for me hearing stories about that time thank you for watching

@usmetaltv thanks awesome really cool to hear about loving the channel btw 😀...I never met Lemmy but 20 plus years ago I worked in construction and met someone that had known him *ahem* quite well..was refitting a kitchen for a woman that frankly most us guys were bit intimidated by 😆 she was actually really cool but had a real intense energy about her..one day I was on a break and noticed on a wall a framed hand written poem I absent mindedly started reading and I thought..hey this sounds awfully familiar, just then said lady walks in and I'm like "excuse me but er .." she laughed and then confirmed it was written by Lemmy and given to her the lyrics for "1916" and that they'd been "very good friends" some years before...why 1916 I darent ask 😆 the other guys I worked with didn't even know who Lemmy was amazingly...she told me a few other stories I wouldn't share but she said he was such a cool sweet guy and I got extra biscuits with my coffee after that she was pretty awesome

@@Man_Ray78 Let me was a great human he had a couple of gay roommates Frankie Goes to Hollywood and another guy just showed he likes everybody if you're a cool guy and in the interview I was holding the camera but when I started to ask about Jimi Hendrix and the Beatles in London his face lit up and he kept telling me bills stories in London stories of Hendrick stories after the interview was done and what you don't see is me playing let me bass shoe his amp at the soundcheck and the drum Tech Vido to Vido was in a band with my guitar player Kurt James who played on Dr. Mastermind and in sealer and also with Graham bonnet and he knew my whole Dr. mastermind album mikkeydee near the drummer on that album real well deencastronovo so is it the best day I've had music out ever

Patience of a saint Lemmy, he sat through that listening to those guys talking about "their" experiences when it was supposed to be "him" being interviewed, and he didn't care, happy to sit and shoot shit, he had a heart of gold, the story about the first thing he said to Dave Grohl - while latter was trying to get his attention, Lemmy playing a video game - sums it up: "I'm sorry about your friend." This is a guy who understands loss, he was always a hippy at heart, despite the rock n roll lifestyle.

In '92 we used to rehearse in a studio in N/W London and Motorhead rehearsed there also - as soon as they started up all the other 7 rooms would stop playing either because they wanted to hear their new stuff or just couldn't hear themselves play anymore.... they used to come in with all their flight cases and one was full of Budweisers. Great days.

We opened for both them and Slayer in 1988 on their Northern leg of their Tour and we ended up going to see Grand Funk afterwards with Lemmy’s tastes switching over to Newcastle English at that time and he was very personable with Me especially. Kinda like that one cool uncle who would’ve bought you and your friends a case if you were underage or buy you some Hustler’s too lol. I really respected him quite a bit than most other artists we’ve known and people don’t even understand the types of music he appreciated thinking he’d be into the Metallica’s of the world ( before they sold out to the masses and forgot their own fans who’ve put them on the map. Period!), but every single person I met never wanted to listen to the same stuff they’ve not only been playing themselves, but having to listen to nonstop. Trust Me on that one my friend ! Sincerely, DJP Anal Cunt; Postmortem and Kilslug Sony; Earache 🇬🇧 Columbia and TAANG!! @@usmetaltv Yes I know, les paul, the eddie van halen of guitar, before eddie, only better than eddie. I updated my original post btw. Also FK lemmy on this, he's cool but he's clueless on who is best. I'd say Townsend was already doing anything hendrix tried and a few years before. Even Johnny Burnette was doing crazy stuff on guitar w distortion in the early 60s.

certainly Lemmy had a inside perspective with Hendrix, and fully agree Randy didn't change the world like Hendrix did. I would argue Eddie changed the guitar world more than Hendrix did.

@@usmetaltv I would never argue the "without this guy/band this guy/band this guy/band" thing. that is a fact and is the natural cycle and progression of things. Eddie's scope of influence was enormous, and unmatched to date. From his techniques to his guitars to his amps and other innovations like the floyd and d-tuner. those are facts.
