Hard to believe such an amazing rendition was accomplished in just FOUR takes, with a couple of false starts to round out the recording session on this song.

You need to listen to Elvis sing, 'Rags To Riches', 'Indescribably Blue', 'Padre', and 'Where Did They Go Lord'. LOVE, it when Elvis sings songs like this that show off his amazing God-given talent. No one will ever be able to come close to The King.

Weight of Elvis jumpsuits: spoke w-Robin at B&K costume company who made Elvis' jumpsuits (Bill Belew's company) & asked about the weight of Elvis' Hawaii jumpsuits - Robin said the jumpsuits ea. weighed approx. 5 lbs., the belt approx. 5 lbs. the cape approx. 5 lbs.; the "long" cape was approx. 25 lbs. & he would not wear it, it was too heavy. Another example Robin said was his King of Spades - the suit, belt, & cape weighed approx. 8 lbs. each. So for anyone interested in the weights, know that 75, 100 or even 35 lbs. for just the jumpsuit by itself that some people mention, is quite outlandish. When i told Robin about the weights that some people mention, she laughed & said oh, no that's impossible. Thanks James.

PS. The Elvis movie is fantastic. He immersed himself so fully that after filming was over, he was hospitalized from just the adrenaline dump and exhaustion. I saw it 7X in the movies & 3 X streaming. The first time so much is happening that you’re just wide eyed and gasping at parts. Austin sings the 50’s. But then they use Elvis’s voice after that. Austin’s movements, inflections and mannerisms are so spot on, I’d look at my son during the 68 Special and said is that Elvis. At one part he does that self concern laugh of Elvis I’ve heard loads of time that I swore it was Elvis. Parts of the real Elvis are tossed in also. Baz treated his ending so respectfully, poignantly & emotionally that people in the cinema were crying and the way he ends it, you could hear a pin drop at the end. One time it got a standing ovation in the theater. The audience reaction on rotten tomatoes was A or A- You will not be disappointed, I guarantee that. Also it took months for poor Austin to slowly let go of Elvis and his mannerisms. He’s a method actor & he got so far down the rabbit hole studying & researching him. He stated that Elvis was the first person he loved that he never met. He’s a wonderful actor and very humble and shy like Elvis was plus his mom died when he was 23 & the same age as Elvis when his mom died so the scene really came from his heart. Anyway, thanks for keeping Elvis alive in our hearts. Hod bless you and your family. 😊❤

Oh….. James, this is one of my favorites of Elvis. It really should have been a big hit. He rehearsed this on the Elvis in Nashville album (2020) & it’s his voice up front with only the small band he recorded it. It’s absolutely beautiful if you want to check it out on U tube or a streaming service. What a phenomenal voice. He’s so emotive when he sings that he just drags one in until it reaches your soul & he doesn’t let go until you feel the song. Such a great artist he was. So missed. Thanks so for sharing this with us. ❤🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃

I'm SOOO glad you watched this version -- there is another version but it does not have these wonderful photos of him. I've listened to this song 100 x - how incredible was that voice & that "up & down" thing he did w-words & that build-up to the end! It's hardly ever suggested - people are missing out on a lot! I think i suggested a Hampton Roads 1972 song ? at kzbin.info/www/bejne/gn_XgWh9mZ2Efac -- pay close attention to the very beginning & then the look of annoyance as he said Please Release Me but they played Can't Stop Lovin' You & the water he threw at Glen @ piano -- hopefully you'll get a chance to watch it because his voice & what he did on that stage is not to be overlooked. Thank you sooo much!

I'd like to see you react to Elvis reacting to this one: Elvis Presley - Sweet Sweet Spirit (Remastered 2015 Version) - Elvis On Tour (2:44). This is a performance by J.D. Sumner and The Stamps, and I guarantee you a goosebumps moment.

The new movie is not about the man himself except through his manager’s selfish use of a legend’s greatness. Most Elvis fans KNOW the movie missed it’s mark of the greatest solo entertainer of the 20th century.

The correct title is "Tomorrow Never Comes", not to be confused with "If Tomorrow Never Comes" (Garth Brooks, Ronan Keating) which is an entirely different song. The title needs correcting !

Another great Elvis song and another great reaction, James! Speaking of country songs, could you react to: Elvis Presley - I really don't want to know (2:46). There's also a 1977 live version, but it's not the whole song.
