Is it true John Lennon was addicted to heroin, If so, how did he used It? People had said John Lennon used heroin, and I find it very hard to believe because John was a great singer, and was nothing like a crackhead. He didn't even act like it. He was talented and smart. How could he had use heroin? He cared about his music and was a great musician. Just looking at this interview, he's just absolutely different than a typical heroin user. I just don't believe it.

@Pedro Guedes I'll agree that John laid the foundation for their greatness. He was older and more mature when The Beatles first started out, facilitating his assumption of a leader role. Paul didn't really catch up until John started dealing with Yoko in '66. My contention is that Paul infused the band with the creative spark which made them incomparable to any other band. He was the creative force behind their most illustrious years in 1966-1969.

It's so interesting how, even after all John's fame and success, the first things that come out of his mouth are "I'm nervous". Even his body language shows he's nervous and still an insecure person. I love this because it reminds us how he's just a normal person. His fame never went to his head and he never acts like he's larger than life or above anyone. It lets us all be able to relate to him. For the most part, every one of the Beatles kept pretty level heads considering their legendary status.

I am awestruck at John Lennon - always was and always will be. Seeing Ringo and Paul reunite for the Beatles Grammy show commemorating the Beatles' 50th anniversary of landing in America, John was a noticeable absence - as Paul said, each Beatle was different but they were a "fit" - no one has been such a perfect fit since. The comment about John not caring about what happens when he's dead - I'm sure he does care. The world is falling apart - Imagine. RIP John - miss you madly.

John is witty, but anxious and aggressive. Yoko is sweet, calm and occasionally, annoyingly quirky. Cavett is brilliant; sympathetic, but not hopelessly unhip, a good listener, occasionally amusing when he needs to be. And he actually brings both of them out. John was nervous and, in order to compensate, tries to wind Cavett up. When he slowly realises that Cavett won't play ball, he becomes more interesting and reveals more about himself. A wonderful interview. I wish we'd have something like that now. Parkinson was probably the last credible example. This tells you way more about John than any other interview or Beatle footage.
