My favorite for now is Bastl Cinnamon VCF! Can go soft to eternal darkness tones. It's 2 pole state variable filter with selectable characteristics and distortion. And I can also use this module as limited VCO (also affected by filter characters). Superb!

Current favourite has to be the Phonic Taxidermist from circuitbenders UK. Really cool bitcrushing delay module

I don't have too much exciting stuff going on in my rack but what I use most is my Zlob vincursal VCA. It's supposed to have 6 VCAs but I built it myself and one of the channels doesn't work and I've yet to fix it. Currently it pulls double duty as my mixer as well.

Current favorite: circadian rhythm. It's huge and it doesn't come with a black panel option but it's so easy to jam with that I rarely even save loops

@@Nematomusic ughhh I know.... I've been very jealous of yours. Was it a pain to install though? I really like I read that it's a bit of a mess with all the spacers when you take the panel off

It’s not bad getting it put together with the spacers, but I will admit it does take some micro adjusting to get all the buttons to function smoothly and not get hung up on the panel. I’m obsessed with the dark look though so it was worth it for such a staple module!

Mariachi drums sold me. Fav eurorack module is the morphagene. It is certainly much different than the Arbhar. You might need both. 🤔

finally some reviews on 500 series with electronic music and not with big bearded men who only play rock! I am also a euro user and I would like to start with a MIDAS launch box. a video on routing with Euro, l would be nice and interesting because for me it is still a bit confusing concept☺️. I still don't understand if there is a need for a patch bay to the sound card and how to use the 500 series modules as a channel strip.

Just found your channel and you have great content! I want to begin my 500 rack. Do you think this is a good option to begin with? And is there any reason to not use the Karacter on everything? I think that it sounded awesome 😎

Thanks! The Karacter is great, but I would probably recommend starting with some form of an EQ or Compressor first! Ultimately it doesn’t matter, but usually those tools will be more flexible and you can probably use them on more content to impart a bigger change. The Karacter is probably best sprinkled on most sources! 😎 But I love the 500 series format!
