How do you even begin with a project of this scale?
@InTheBeginningTheUniverseWas8 жыл бұрын
Planning and sketches. Lots of planning and sketches. Maybe even a small scale model. That would be cute.
@D3adli35hWi5h8 жыл бұрын
The best way is practice, start out by looking at references and seeing what you like. Begin to build, start small. Learn the small important things in Minecraft building. Depth, Scale, Textures. From there you can work your way to EXTREAMLY large scales like this. Scaling a build is much easier to build something nice, however, it is much more time consuming. The larger the scale the more elaborate you can make it look. If you are just starting out, figure out the basics first. In essence is the basics of learning any for of art.

+Earthenfist I've often thought if the Minecraft builders would just apply themselves to Blender art we would all be better off. hehe
@Earthenfist8 жыл бұрын
Christian Labor I do both myself. Very different kinds of building- the precision placement of Minecraft, and the limitations you are given, make for a different soil for imaginations to grow. Creating something from a completely blank slate (such as in Blender) is actually more difficult than if you have something to build off of, even if it's not really related to what you're trying to do- and often the limitations and the trials of getting disparate elements to cooperate creates something better than you could have made if everything worked how you wanted.

"It's been 5 centuries ever since the Mighty Steve set foot on these cursed lands, defending countless villages from beasts, the undead, and corrupted death cults. He erected immense monoliths and sprawling cities in his image, but suddenly he vanished and was never seen again... The year is 4879, these lands are now infected with strife and war, the cults rule these lands with the undead mutant mockeries of the Mighty One. It's no longer about family, friends, or being safe in your own home, instead it's all about suffering, strife, and the fact that you and the ones you hold dearly are forced to worship a repulsive pantheon. We will never know when the Mighty Steve will ever return to his people, some have already given up hope, while others still hold on to that dream. Doesn't matter anyway, for that we will all die before our 30th birthday by either being executed, mauled by the Dark Men of Ending, or suffocate due to Creeper Spores growing in our lungs..." *GRIMDARK MINECRAFT*

I really love the technique you used to not only make a time lapse, but also have the camera fly through the area as it's being built around it. That is very creative, I can imagine it's almost the same complex rig like Tim Burton used for Nightmare before Christmas. The first stop motion film that used a computer-controlled, moving camera. I also got an idea for my own build which I'm always looking for ideas, is the foundation you used, how it takes over the entire landscape.
@EpicKeyboardGuy9 жыл бұрын
Holy shit... I can't believe this video doesn't have at the very least a few million views... Very impressive !!! Also, I'm familiar with the concept of moving time-lapse, and I get that the camera have to move very very very slowly to be at the right speed once the footage is sped up, but how do you time it ?! How do you know beforehand exactly the right speed at which the construction is gonna progress ??

@PinkBroBlueRope8 жыл бұрын
if you know how fast you want to move it across the screen, and you know how you're going to speed the footage up (1x, 2x, 3x, etc.) it's pretty easy to work out, just math the shit out of it

Yeah but how do they know at which speed the build is gonna progress ?! :P Like, go in minecraft, build a big castle, but before you start, tell me exactly how much time it will take you to build that castle so I can set the camera at the right speed while you're building it :P

@@kinjesnow6998 bro its not that bad, building is enjoyable the only part of this that seems even slightly annoying is placing the ground, you just like to be sad

@@kinjesnow6998 Well, nobody could build this if they didn't want to build it in the first place. This is a passion project and that's why they do it they love this stuff. We just have to envy from the sidelines that they enjoy things we never could but maybe you could try yourself and who knows what'll happen
