Viewers probably expected a normal distribution shaped hill to form like in the thumbnail, but it didn't. I did one of my bases on top of a shattered savanna. I would see whole herds of Endermen under my base just chillin. The whole landscape on the bottom of the savanna was riddled with out of place blocks. They did actually change the landscape and it was a bit weird looking. I didn’t mind that they changed the landscape but the ones holding blocks would not despawn and it got to the point where the surrounding area had dozens of Enderman just running around. 😂

This would be such a cool idea for a story. Like, something happens that makes all the endermen go crazy, and it becomes some sort of apocalypse because even though they don’t auto attack players, they would start rapidly destroying any kind of structures, including destroying the ground creating sink holes literally everywhere, flooding places by moving water, burning places by moving fire and lava, completely destroying all ecosystems, and there would be so many of them that the chance of looking one in the eyes, or accidentally hitting one when they teleport in front of you, would be WAY higher, and it would create a massive domino effect. It would be interesting to see how people would adapt.

Seeing how the endermen start with building circles makes me think the algorithm is somewhat related to cave building. But them building up clearly shows that they try to escape the hole.

I think the pillars are due to endermen having a higher chance of teleporting higher, which wouldn't usually be that noticeable, but with that many, the probability is much easier to observe. (This is just my hypothesis, as I know other mobs tend up hill)

Mind if I ask why you didn't use the new tick commands to increase the overall tick speed of the game instead of going in and changing their code? And use a datapack to change which blocks are tagged for Enderman to not be able to pick up, and set the mob spawns for each of the biomes to only spawn Enderman. This would produce a cleaner result, instead of modifying their entire behavior since this would give them the chance to actually move around like they normally would, which should help with block dispersal.
