Em Chandler (August 16, 2024)

More than once, a stranger has said “No offence, but you look like an elf”, which Em Chandler (she/they) takes as a compliment! After all, elves are both tale spinners and weavers of magic… 🧚‍♀️
A proud queer/trans storyteller and theatre-maker based in Ballaarat and Naarm/Melbourne, Em has over a decade of experience working with kids and their adults; adoring connecting with others through kindness and wonder. She loves bringing her unique repertoire of spells, stories and songs from intimate community events through to major festivals such as Firelight and Midsumma. In 2022 Em was an inaugural member of the Lemony S Puppet Lab, and was subsequently cast in Lemony S Puppet Theatre’s show CROW KID for its Australian premiere, and its international premiere in Korea. Recently, her show Once Upon a Rhyme won Best Children’s Show at the Melbourne Magic Festival. The Sydney Morning Herald describes her as "pure enchantment“. Em will also be presenting two works during the Festival of Australian Theatre 22-25 August here in Ballarat! 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈
