How to rise happy children “majority of the children who grow up to be corrupt people, are a result of their parents” if i as a conscious muslim do not prepare a plan - a written plan - a clearly identifiable plan for my daughter and my son, then i have definitely handed over my son to the planning over other people. planning is essential, and writing down those goals and how you’re going to achieve them is just as essential study in 1979 - graduates of harvard were asked if they had goals and have they written down plan on how they are going to achieve them ⁃ 3% said yes ⁃ 13% said they have goals but not written anything ⁃ 84% had no goals and hadn’t written anything down 10 years later, they were interviewed again ⁃ 13% people were earning 2x as much as 84% ⁃ 3% were earning 10x more than 97% combined keeping it in mind, what is your plan for child? Allah says “oh you who believe, protect yourselves and your families from a fire, the fuel of which is man and stone” How do i do that? Ali ibn Abi Talib said by nurturing them to have good manners and by educating them The plan 1- be aware of selfish spouse choosing ⁃ where you’re only taking in to considerations your preference, particularly in the place you’re living in ⁃ betrayal to future children - they were not taken in to consideration much of the decisions they will make in life are directly linked to the decision that you took for them when choosing their mother/father hadith: if a man comes to you requesting the hand of your daughter in marriage and you’re satisfied with him in regards to his religion and manners then accept him hadith: women are usually married on bases on 1 of the 4 things: ⁃ wealth ⁃ appearance ⁃ lineage ⁃ religious commitment I encourage you to take hold of the woman of religion (practising muslim) - may you prosper, may you be successful” People often only marry after they have had haram pre marital relationships with the ones they are attracted to - who is the victim of this every time: the child who was not considered/ planned for, with regards to their islamic future and who they want their parent to be ⁃ their need of a good parent is neglected try to stay away from selfish spouse choosing and look at the bigger picture ⁃ this will be the parent of my progeny - my extension of good deeds when i am in my grave one of the most knowledgeable creation of Allah (after the prophets and messengers) with regards to the knowledge and the know-how of tarbiya (upbringing), the science of nurturing and the mastery of carving greatness from men and women is the mother !! Zubair ibn Al Awan - one of the 10 promised paradise ⁃ accepted islam in his youth ⁃ first to unsheathe his sword in the path of Allah what is he except a seed which was planted by his mother - son of Saffiya (daughter of Abdul Mutalib) Muawiya ⁃ leader of the believers ⁃ mastermind of leader ⁃ the scribe of prophet (pbuh) what is he except a seed planted by his mother - Hind bint Utba and Abu Suffian when he a baby, people would say that he will one day become a leader of his people, his mother took it as an insult an said ‘may he die if he becomes a leader of just his people’ - ie she wanted him to become a leader of the believer not just his own people - he became the leader of the believers ⁃ when he waned to take pride he would say ‘i am the son of Hind’ the future of the ummah rest on the shoulders of the muslim women 2- you be a person of dean, because your religiosity is interwoven with theirs Story of Musa and Khidr ⁃ Khidr was commanded by Allah to fix the wall of orphans, to protect the treasure inside, because they father was a righteous man ⁃ see how Allah preserved those children because of the righteousness of their father this is clear cut evidence that man will be protected with regards to his children through his own religion and the blessing of your worship will encompass your children as well that is why Saed ibn Musayib will pray and when he would finish his prayer he would say to his son ‘oh my son i am praying and sometimes i want to finish early but then i remember you my child, so i make the prayer extra long, hoping Allah will make you righteous through it reassess; ⁃ your situation ⁃ how you’re presenting yourself on social media ⁃ secret habits ⁃ your income ⁃ your dress code your religion are a very much part of your children 3- dua before intercourse for protection of your child ⁃ the prophet said if they’re given a child, satan will not be able to harm them 4- during pregnancy make this a period of intense dua - for the islamic future of the children word of mother of Maryam - mother of Jesus - ‘oh Allah, i have promised you that whatever is in my womb, it is purely for your service/dean’ dua of Zakaria - oh Allah bless me from you a good offspring (good in their islam/ appearance/ hearts/ health/ choices/ grades/ graves/ hereafter) dua of Ibrahim - Oh Allah make a person who establishes the prayer and from my offspring as well ⁃ how much dua are you making for them before they even exist 5- give the adhan in the ear of the child ⁃ saying to the child is this your Lord, this is your priority in life 6- choosing a name ⁃ give your children the names of the prophets ⁃ and the most beloved of the names to Allah are Abdullah and Abdur-rahman ⁃ truthful names - harris and hammam ⁃ most despised names - harb (war) and mura (bitterness) because names can affect the personality of a child
