You did a great job I liked it!!! I got the hawk5 with f80s and I've been thinking on getting in to 6s and i want it. Dont buy f80 pros even though they are Lighter than the old ones they are nothing in comparisons to the old f80s. How ever the old ones were the best motors ever. Very hard to hurt them very very smooth for over a yr. And very Efficient even though they were heavy They didn't draw was much power because they were big enough to handle the props. Never got hot. It felt very light and so freaking fast lol.

Awesome review man, just received my 6s pro version. Binded it and setup for tomorrow! Which 6s packs did you use to fly this little beast? I'm using tattu 6s 1300 mah 3.0 version and 6s talon faf 1300 mah packs and the 1150 packs.

Best analog camera on the market IMO. I'm wondering if you have a bad one on it. I had 2 of the Oscar Liang cameras that did that to me.

I got to 3/4 throttle speed runs on 4s with the pro banking and no video skip so maybe it was an early issue, I upped vtx in cli to 200mw had 200m range. Unreal control over the quad with stock tune. Good to do a direct to pcb antenna pigtail ditch the sma maybe. The ratel cam is almost surreal in color and contrast especially at sunset.

That was cool! The skipped fpv camera frames, you might possibly be hallucinating, which isn't a bad thing! Just kidding! Seriously I have the original hawk 5, and I'm not a racer at all, but this is a great freestyle quad, as well! Maybe a little light, but the thing flys on a rail! Might have to check out the new version, as the canopy is awesome, very batman-esque!

Where are you that it is so cold?!? Hot as hell in NC. Good review of the quad. I agree with the ratel. Def the best camera I have used to date. Be careful tho, I have had them randomly freeze up mid flight and need to recycle the power to reset it... not good for long range over the water like I enjoy(luckily happened at a dry place I fly a lot) but did break my quad unfortunately. What camera did you use for the night flight recording at the end? Keep it up sir and thanks again!

Great video and insightful. I am new to the sport, but I just got my Emax Hawk Pro and I am having an issue binding it to my qx7s. So when I remove the hawk pro canopy there is the button for changing the vtc channels but is there another button for the binding process or is it all one in the same? I would greatly appreciate any assistance

Nice review my man... You should convince Emax to let me try one and to put it head to head on a track with timing versus my standard setup... 100% fair. I'm curious how this thing stacks up. It seems like a compelling BNF package.

I’m wondering the same. I want to get one and do a side by side with my tunes hawk 5. Put them both on the same course and do a 4s vs 6s comparison as well as timing testing. And then test it against my main race rig, Flightone arc-1 with Flightone odd stack and Xilo 2207 1750’s. Tho even still I can only beat my hawk 5 but about a second on a few utt tracks. Would be interesting.

I really do want to see what a Hawk Lite 5 in 1900KV could really do - as a beginner quad on 4S, that setup is absolutely excellent. I actually run mine mostly on 5S, because that setup rips, and it'll take 6S and absolutely roll. I've also found that with BF4.1 on any conservative tunes (especially letting DMin get low), these things will fly even on broken/delaminated arms and stacks that are outright coming apart. I do think EMAX would do well to offer a 'Tuned' option where they basically borrow your updated stock settings on BF4.1/BLHeli_32.7 that goes to full party mode on the first plugin... maybe some retailers would consider that a worthwhile offering.

For the average consumer i think analog is gonna be around for a long time, with everything dji, its expensive and i dont see the price coming down any time soon.

DJI is cheaper than premium analog actually. HDO2 + RF + Powerplay = $740.

Furadi but you have to consider the price of building a quad in there too, im talking about the average guy like me. Its cheaper to build a quad with analog, and if you choose a bnf or pnp the dji bundles i seen are 800-1000+ dollar range.

What needs to happen is other companies jumping on board and making it cheaper, im not against it, im just against the price. That and if they can make it smaller to fit into tiny whoop/ toothpick sized quads that would be awesome. Right now its, pay to play, some people can and some people cant and thats why i think analog is here to stay for a long time.

I got a few questions for you: What packs are you flying on the hawk pro and what is the chase quad you are flying with the dji system?(also the clarity doesn’t look great on that night footage surprisingly enough knowing it is the dji system right?)

Hawk Pro packs are Pyro 1250 6s ultralights. Chase quad is a Hyperlow Unibody 6" BUT it's not designed for HD. The night footage looks awesome when you compare it to analog. As an example my buddy David flying the Hawk Pro couldn't see the ground during that flight because it was mostly blacked out. It doesn't look like it but it was too dark for analog.

Hi Marco! Get the highest quality 1000 - 1300mah 6s pack you can find. Not sure what you have available there but something like Infinity, Bonka or Tattu Rline. Highest C rating you can find too cause the lipo won't "supply" current as much as the motors will "pull" what they can...

Hi there! Honestly I would recommend getting the Buzz over the Hawk Pro if you're starting out. pyrodrone.com/products/emax-buzz-freestyle-racing-bnf-2400kv-4s-frsky Pair it with a Frsky X9 Lite radio and some Aomway Commander goggles and you'd be ready to go!

As an Emax fanboy I have got to get me a hawkpro. I’m practical begging them to send me one lol. I mean I love love love my hawk 5 and it’s gotten me on the podium a few times but it’s almost 2 years old now and motors finally starting to go out. Would definitely love an upgrade! I hope they sell the custom ratel cam separately soon. I wouldn’t mind one in my Buzz and even my old hawk 5 tho I have a Predator v2 in it now.
