That link to installing a custom track leads only to the generic liftoff community page. To install track in Windows: 1- launch steam 2- right click on game then properties 3- local files tab 4- browse local files then get into liftoff_data 5- look for file called "tracks", if there isn't one create it with that name 6- place downloaded track into the "tracks" folder The track linked by Jack here is based off "Autumn Fields" map. To play the track go to "Free Flight" then "Autumn Fields" then you should see the Day 3 track in that list. Took me a while to find this info so I thought I'd share it here, I hope thats okay.

The best way to advance brake is full lock turn then let go as soon as it hits level facing the other side then pull up. This is how I learned how to do it over trees. What I need to practice next is doing it going backwards. The power loop.

I've got to get a Taranis or something. I find keeping the throttle low enough in LiftOff really hard. I can do big, sweeping movements well, but small, precise ones are so tough.
@FPVAcademy8 жыл бұрын
Yes a Taranis changes everything. Controllers work nice and are a quick fix, but if you're serious about flying FPV you should definitely invest in a Taranis.

@Dontbeweakvato8 жыл бұрын
are you using thumbs? that's the noob way. you need to watch a video on thumbs vs pinching. only using thumbs gives you less precision and less dexterity. watch the video and find an easy way to pinch because I know some people don't like it because it's cumbersome but there are a lot of different ways. there is a pinch/thumb hybrid way.

Great flying instruction dude, Im hooked. Question for you, I always curious how much, if any, expo on pitch/roll/yaw to use in my Taranis and how this is different from RC Expo and RC Yaw Expo in the Cleanflight Receiver Tab settings. Currently I don't have any expo entered in my Taranis for pitch/roll/yaw but in the CleanFlight Receiver Tab I have the RC Rate = 1.25 RC Expo = 0.75 RC Yaw Expo = 18 . The next chance I can get out with my Racer I'm going to try tuning it from scratch again and then see if I notice anything different with 5 - 10% Expo in my Taranis for pitch/roll/yaw and see how it goes.
@FPVAcademy9 жыл бұрын
+SteveRCPilot Thanks Steve! To be honest, I'm not super clued up with how all those settings work. Josh just helps me out and I take it flying. Sorry I'm not more of a help :/
@SteveRCPilot9 жыл бұрын
Josh has helped me a lot too, he really knows his stuff. I have since played around with setting 10%-15% expo on Roll/Pitch/Yaw in my Taranis also raised D and lowered P while keeping rates the same. I beginning to think RC Expo in Cleanflight and the Expo that can be set in the Taranis on each channel do much different things.

Hi, I'm having some minor issues I believe with my turns in Liftoff. I'm quite new to the quad scene and understand the mechanics involved theoretically. I have a Spektrum DX6 that I'm using and when I try just a slow flight and using just the yaw to turn the quad seems to lift and roll in the opposite direction from where I am trying to go. Example, I would want to turn right. so I would yaw to the right and the quad would begin to turn and face right but I would continue on my current projector until I pitch forward or counter with a roll. Is that normal? or have I messed up with something with my settings in the game or on the remote it self? I only ask cause I'm spending so much time in the simulator getting the muscle memory down before I go and crash my quads in r/l Thanks.
@FPVAcademy8 жыл бұрын
Totally normal :) Yawing alone wont turn the quad unless you add some roll/pitch and throttle. Cheers

Wow interesting exercises! Very helpful for me and my friends. I've sent you question via youtube form (or google+ form) about translation of your videos. And now got another question, maybe it can be strange. Are there any problems with the law of South Africa regarding the drones? I'll be in Cape Town on March 4th. I'm Antarctic researcher and go on expedition. I want to take DJI Phantom and racing drone too. I want to know are there any problems at customs with drones? Can I somewhere read about it? its not as easy as just putting yaw in. he never once showed what happens when the plane is a 45 and you yaw because in a head set it looks like it turns the wrong way as it rolls only on the y axis not x and y at the same time. it like having two flight modes where y becomes useless at any angle. i'm going to see if i can dual rate the sticks depending on what angle the quad sense just on y axis to see if you can simply yaw and it rolls at x. if i wanted to fly something so annoying i would have bought a two blade copter
