Skyscrapers are not really needed. Most of China's commercial skyscrapers are actually empty, they just look nice when doing drone shots lol. What Indian cities need are good quality interestingly designed mid-rises to high-rises with good streetscaping. Most of the tech hubs in Bengaluru are gated townships which are not open to general public. If Bengaluru wants a good Chinese-style CBD, the first step would be opening of the townships, taking down the boundary walls and having vibrant streetscapes with shops on the ground floor.

@@yourbff1484 The issue is not about arable land. India does not have enough land to accommodate 1.5 billion population. Why is it getting hotter in India every year? Because there is too much deforestation. It is taking too much land to house and feed so much population and then there is a need of land to build working units or business centers and the number of vehicles on the road is on rise. With the rise in urban population, the cities are expanding and more and more agricultural and forest land are taken over. So, we need to build high rise buildings so that less lands are used to accommodate more people and more businesses. We are blessed to have arable land and China is also blessed to have a lot of mountainous areas which are treasure trove as well as offer scenic views to help tourism and still they have more arable land than us
