The single trash dump in Kiteezi collapsed early on Saturday morning, burying villagers' homes. On Sunday, President Museveni expressed his sympathies to the families of those who had lost loved ones, but he also stated that it was a bad decision to live close to the landfill. The president declared that because of the stink, no settlement would be permitted beneath the landfill. Additionally, President Museveni gave the State House instructions to donate Shs5 million for each person killed and Shs1 million for each person injured in the Kiteezi dump catastrophe that occurred early on Saturday.

Naye ono kungu asks funny questions. Plz reason maturely, in 2024 how can uganda be still doing things of 80yrs back. Pple have died because of neglence of the govt. Since 2015 they warned about that kitezi !!the hon says they dont want to have the same problem,,,,,he is right...if they allow them they will go back & forget then after 30 yrs again we have the same problem.
