Ember Mug 2 Unboxing Setup Review | Tech + Coffee Temperature Controlled Mug

Tech finally meets coffee and tea. Well, the Ember MUG 2 is one of the more exciting products that I have reviewed as of recently because it keeps me going. That is right, I run off coffee. Whether you are a coffee or tea lover, I know you know the feeling of your coffee or tea getting cold. In come the Ember MUG which will keep your Coffee or Tea hot up to 145 degrees hot for up to 1 hour and 20 minutes on the 14oz Ember Mug 2 version and 1 hour and 30 minutes on the 10 oz Ember Mug 2. The Ember Mug 2 is super easy to setup and pairs with your bluetooth, which is nice, but I do wish it had wifi as you need to be close to your coffee for a bluetooth connection to make sure you set the proper dial temperature and also check on the temperature inside the Ember Mug 2.
Connecting several Ember Mug 2s is easy, but I found them to have bluetooth problems and they had a hard time differentiating and having different settings. The Ember Mug 2 comes packed very well and comes with different colors. You can get White, Grey, or Black which is the most common. Each Ember Mug 2 has a personal led light to differentiate the mugs from each others. For example, say there are 4 in the family with the same colors. The light will light up when you grab it from the base, but I wish it flashed that light while using it vs a white blinking light.

Whatever you do, don't buy this mug. The charger/coaster would stop functioning after a few months and getting help from Ember is impossible.

The instructions that come with it are very confusing. That's why I am here. Also, if you put a cold drink in it, will it heat it up?

I plugged in the charging station and charged the station for a day, but I didn't put the mug on the charging plate. I didn't know if I needed to turn it on when it's on the charger or not. It's very confusing!

First, my charging coaster failed. Replaced on warranty. Now my mug failed. Replacing on warranty. I've had to send multiple emails over multiple weeks to get a response several times now. Infuriating.

Honestly, based on my experience, they are a total waste of money. I have purchased two, and neither of them charge regularly.

After reading these reviews, I feel lucky that I've had no issues with mine. It was a gift, so I didn't have to put out the initial cost of the cup. Two months in, working fine, knock on wood.
